May be a crazy Question, but out of the last 20-30 years, how many teams have won state championships that have NOT been border schools (County borders another state) or Private Schools?

I'm guessing not many on a consistent basis, I'm also going to add Independent School Districts just for fun.

That is actually a really interesting thought. I’m not sure of the exact number but I would guess that a high proportion of Kentucky counties border another state if not the majority of them. Given the way the geography of the state is aligned I think it would make sense for the border states to the most championships just of how the state is built.
I was just having this discussion with a buddy a few months back. I compiled this list based on the county being adjacent to the border as opposed to the actual city where the school is located. Only went back 2000 also.
Now, I will say, I don't necessarily think that proximity to a state border automatically means that teams are pulling in kids from across state lines. I don't believe Mayfield, for example, can attribute their success to kids coming to play for them from Tennessee. Also, would a team like Mayfield be at more of an advantage to pull kids from across state lines just because Graves County is border adjacent, versus a school like South Warren or Bowling Green which isn't? It is interesting to think about though.

Yes, but to be fair, excluding border counties and private schools isn't exactly casting a wide net. That's a significant majority of the state's population being excluded. 11 of the 15 most populated counties are border counties.
