Somerset is one of my favorite teams I follow because of the current head coaching hire.  I also was a fan of that state championship team a few years ago and loved their story. I was there cheering them on as they won that championship on that last play. Perry County Central is to the point with their coach that they he has had enough time to put his touch on the team. I do look for them to start getting more competitive. I am a fan of Mountain Football and these two should have a really good contest it being early in the season.

I came here to say the exact same thing! Somerset has some unfinished business to take care of.

Both teams have lost some valuable players since last year, but I have no doubts that Clevenger will have his Briar Jumpers ready for the battle. 

My vote is 100% with Somerset.

I think somerset rolls. Last year left such a taste in the players and coaches mouth up in hazard that i see a win with vengeance coming. No doubt left on the field. I’m about as high as one can get on somerset this year with clevenger.

I don't think this one will be a blowout. I think it will be closer than everyone thinks. Got to recognize that just because they lost Noah doesn't mean they aren't well coached and that the o line and d line are consisted of juniors and seniors on both sides for perry as well as a senior rb. Somerset pulls it off though, well coached and got some weapons like Kris Hughes as well as home field advantage.

Even the penalties they called on PCC benefited them and hurt Somerset. There was one drive by PCC where they advanced the ball at least 50 yards without ever gaining a yard from scrimmage. I mean, the crew got suspended after the game, that should tell you everything you need to know about it.

I didn't need you to say it, I saw enough of that game to know who the better team was.

Not sure what kind of team PCC has but I saw Somerset scrimmage Mercer. Mercer has a decent defense but not world beaters. Somerset's offense did not look great against them. Somerset has a good RB but not much else jumped out at me. Mercer Picked Somerset once and dropped a easy pick 6.

I would say when the game really counts Somerset is not going to be throwing the ball enough for many interceptions more than likely it’s gonna be run heavy like last year I know they were trying to get some other people some reps but you can look for the run. This team’s strong suit should be their defense they return their entire line from last year I expect a lot of games to be 21-7, 28-12 type games out of Somerset this year.

If I’m not mistaken the rushing yards that game for Perry was something like 70 more than the receiving yards and Tyler smith was the leading receiver with the only receiving score. Not someone else. Perry lost a lot but there was a lot of other factors why they were in that game last year. Several good players and as bad as some people don’t want to admit it the refs played a huge role also.

I agree scrimmages can be misleading. I thought Somerset's defense looked good
