"resigns" is code for Whitley County politics at work.

Ever wonder what hiring Siler as superintendent would due to sports in Whitley Co well here you go… other than a very solid baseball coach Whitley Co sports have nosedived since he took over, and I’m definitely not surprised….

Agreed.  Also Granny, rural schools can be lumped in there with the mountain schools.  We get it around us as well.  "Powers that be" is what we call them.

I almost forgot how to get back on here. I was sad to read that Eier resigned. I thought he was building something.

That's what I thought. I hoped things were changing. So frustrating to have to put up with stuff like this for a lifetime. Kids work so hard without being rewarded.

Thank you so much. I'm glad to be here Smile . I hate that I make it back just in time to see the young coach has resigned.

It wasn't so great before him either though. They seem to have a good basketball coach, but I dewfinitely don't disagree with you. How can people put a stop to political BS? I've never known how.

Glad you’re back Pjdoug? Who do you think will win 6A this year.

Do you know a good coach that might be interested? We need to break the clique up.

You heard it here first... Dont be surprised when it comes from the Redhound family tree.

Names I have heard mentioned:

Matt Rhymer - Whitley Co.
Jody Mouser - Corbin
Wayne Mills - Corbin
Phil Russell - Pulaski Co.
Jason Foley - Southwestern

Mills and Mouser both coached at Whitley County about 4 years ago. That was what got the ball rolling that forced Haddix out at Corbin. Corbin Superintendant Dave Cox was supplying Corbin teaching jobs for Whitley County coaches but wouldn't supply teaching jobs for their replacements at Corbin. After 3 straight championships at Boyle, Dave Cox looks pretty stupid right now.

I think you had some slight credibility until you said Jason Foley.

FootballFan1999 you are exactly right! I got some friends in Somerset that tells me Southwestern will lose a lot of their talent at the end of this season. He is looking for other jobs constantly.

This list makes me sick at my stomach.

I agree. I wouldn't choose any on the list, but they would never try to hire a coach as good as Foley.

Didn't Ricky Bowling Great Crossing, Coach there at one time? Just a guess but he could be interested. They are moving to 6A ouch.
#27
Foley would be a homerun for Whitley County. Wonder if there is any legitimacy to that or just a name thrown out there because people know he would probably be willing to leave Southwestern.
#28
What about Payne at Madison Southern? He's from Corbin, spent time at Taylor and Southwestern with Foley. He just had one season at Southern though so may not be wanting to leave. I heard he applied last time at Whitley.
#29
I’m hearing coach Haddix will be in attendance tomorrow night at Whitley county basketball game.

Honest question? How come Whitley can’t ever keep a coach? Is the administration there that bad? Do they have to keep their hand in everything and just don’t allow coaches to do their job?
