Lopsided series records
#1
Corbin has defeated Whitley County in all 20 of the meetings between the schools. Wondering how many series around the state have played this many times with one team winning every single game?

Corbin vs. Whitley County series:
1966: CHS 75-6
1967: CHS 14-0
1968: CHS 21-2
1969: CHS 37-0
1970: CHS 30-14
1971: CHS 36-0
1972: CHS 58-27
1973: CHS 28-0
1978: CHS 40-14
1979: CHS 33-0
1980: CHS 49-0
1981: CHS 62-0
1982: CHS 37-0
1983: CHS 42-8
1984: CHS 27-2
1985: CHS 35-7
2015: CHS 35-14
2016: CHS 42-6
2017: CHS 14-0
2018: CHS 36-7

I know that Garrard County has never beaten Somerset. I don't know the total number of games in that series but it is more than 10.
#3
That would make sense. I could see schools like Mayfield and Pikeville as being the type that might have some lopsided series records against overmatched district teams.
#4
While not a perfect series record this is impressive. Murray High last beat Mayfield in 97 and prior to that 72 with the teams often meeting twice in a single season. Murray dropped the Cards briefly when in different classes but they are now both 2A again
#5
Ballard Memorial has never beat the Cards

Playing a team 20 times in 54 years is not a series. I would like to congratulate the the Corbin Redhounds for their 20-0 record against the Whitley County Colonels. 🙄

Belfry is 27-0 vs. Pike Central
They have outscored the Hawks 1237-252
No game has ever been decided by less than 10 points.

Where's the dislike button at? LOL J/K

Belfry and any modern day Pike County team not named Pikeville. Include Pikeville in the last 18 years. Before that, and still at times, a very good series with the Panthers. I believe Pikeville had the series edge before this latest Belfry run.

Elkhorn City only lost one game to Lynch. Impressive.

OPEN is winless in Kentucky HS Football (all-time).

Excluding Pikeville:

East Ridge, 11-0
Elkhorn City, 13-2
Johns Creek, 15-1
Phelps, 1-0
Pike Central, 27-0
Shelby Valley, 11-0
Virgie, 2-0

80-3

It has been 44 years since Belfry lost to a Pike County team if you exclude Pikeville. Belfry lost to Elkhorn City 16-14 in 1974.

The more you think about Corbin-Whitley is that what’s unique is that it’s the bigger school on the short end. Shame they didn’t play across the 90s and 00s because that would’ve been a pretty good set of games with Whitley winning a number of them.
#21
When did South Floyd beat Pikeville!? I’m surprised the entire county didn’t go up in flames that night.
