Estill County, the defending 56th district champions, will look to win back to back district titles for the first time in a long time if not in school history.
Engineers return 98% of their scoring from last season including guards Caleb Bonny and Joe Benton.
Powell County took a big big hit at graduation, losing; Both Hunter and Levi Bloom, Max Hernandez, Austin Napier, Gary Asch, Mikey Lindon and Trevor Marcum.
Hernandez and Napier were the two leading scorers for Powell County last season, both averaging 13+ PPG, Napier was right at 20 PPG.
They do return some good talent in Bryce Merrion, DeShaun Williams and Carlos Hernandez
Owsley County will be senior and junior heavy. 4 seniors and 5 juniors on next year's team with the leading scorer returning, which could make for a good season and possibly region tournament appearance.
Lee County, despite losing 4 seniors off this year's team, the Bobcats will have 6 seniors and 3 juniors on next year's team including both leading scorers, Joe Shelton, Dylan McQueen both returning.
Can Estill County run away with the district title or will one of the other 3 teams give them a run for their money?
One thing is for sure, with the talent that Owsley and Lee both return, one of those two schools may find themselves playing in the regional tournament next season.

I'd love to see Lee County or Owsley County make an appearance in the Region Tournament but I think Fraley will have Powell County in the finals of the district against Estill. I think the Engineers take the district and I hope they go on to win the 14th Region Tournament.

I couldn't agree more. Been a long time since Lee and Owsley have made it to the region. Someone correct me, but I don't think Lee has made it out of the first round of the district tournament since Danny Wright left.
I think Estill shouldn't have a problem winning this district this season. Powell lost most of their scoring/starters from last season but as always they always show up to play in the championship game.
