Lewis Morris Accepts Middlesboro Head Coaching Position
#1
Morris is now the new Head Basketball Coach at Middlesboro High School.

Middlesboro makes the right hire. Thoughts?
#2
Good hire. Good luck to Coach Morris.

For the first time in Steve Martin's tenure he has made the right hire. Was surprised to see him at the news conference. This would be the first athletic event he has been to since football games. Of course he would be seen with a great hire, just the way he is. Good luck to Morris, he has a crap load of work to do.

Great hire and will be immediate improvement from the Jackets. Our loss is Jackets gain!

It will definitely improve the Jackets.

Good luck to coach Morris. Hate to see him leave. Yellow is not his color.

Best coach in the system! Bell will be trying to get him back!
#8
Hard to imagine leaving Bell for Middlesboro as toxic as it is right now.
#9
I'm excited to see if Lewis can get some kids in the halls back out. quality athletes not playing basketball and would help him immediately if he can get them out.

Bell may be worse.

The word in town Pville is that Coach Napier has taken the Williamsburg job. Has anyone heard?

This has really surprised me.

Sure hope he has a lot of luck rebuilding the program there at Middlesboro!!

Even in their lowest times, Middlesboro always had a great fan base. They were loud and rowdy!! I remember playing down there one time, and the crowd was all dressed up and excited. One of the fans had an air horn, and the refs had told him that he could not use it. He sat it down beside him on the bleachers. Shortly afterward, a kid that appeared to be 11 or 12 years old, got excited and picked it up and blew it. Well, you would've thought he had shot a gun or something. He was escorted out of the gym and looked like he was about to cry. I felt so bad for him!!

The problem Morris will have is not one of the kids are used to having someone that will not keep you on the team for disciplinary issue. If a player doesn't follow a rule most say that Morris will not keep them. Well looks like a few will not make it a week.
#14
That's exactly what they need.
#15
It's going to be interesting for Morris in a variety of ways at the boro. All I can say is good luck

Middlesboro and Martin is already messing with Morris, I am hearing that they told his wife she had a job and backed out after he accepted. Get used to it Coach. This administration has one objective, make as much money as possible and take care of their family and buddies.

Now that Martin is leaving what will happen with this sport?

I have wondered the same thing not just for Coach Mo but the entire Mboro sports program. Will they improve and make the right hires? Seems like they made one with Morris but I expect the football job to be open this year too. Hope they can get a little traction and rebuild a little bit.

I was told by a little birdie long ago that Morris wanted the Whitley job when it came open 6 or 7 years ago and would have brought maci with him.
Instead a certain few rejects hired overbey and the rest is history. Well.bad history anyways.
