Wonder why it moved from January to December?
03-31-2017, 12:59 AM
I think they moved it so they could get some of the All "A" teams to get into the Tournament
03-31-2017, 02:18 AM
It will be a tournament of unknow because all these teams will be trying to figure out what they have

Knott and Wolfe both return a lot of their scoring. Not sure about everyone else. I know Perry and Leslie will have almost completely new starting lineups.

Incorrect on Leslie as they have 3 returning starters.
Tyler Dixon - Averaged 18 and 9
Nick Hoskins - Avg 15 ppg
Colin Smith (missed most of February) Avg 13 ppg
Then return Darron Whitaker who started PG as a freshman and was out with an injury all last year.

Looks like a pretty even field, several teams that should be near top of their regions with no "dominating" team - I like the move back to early December, It defiantly makes the tournament more appealing to All A teams worried about the All A tournament in early January.

That was the biggest reason.
It's hard to get anyone from the 15th involved because so many of them are in the All-A in early January.
Some other schools had things to move around in December to make this happen too - but this seems to be a positive move for everyone.

I thought Estill was supposed to be pretty good? Why weren't they invited?

FC will have 4 starters from AC SF will have 3 starters if Tackett and company are on board

Looking forward to seeing bracket

Was wondering the same thing

Knox will win it.

Why weren't they invited?I asked someone involved in the tournament and they told me you have to submit an application and then the participants are chosen from that. Didn't say whether Estill did that or not, but if they didnt submit a request for consideration then there is no way to be chose. I would imagine that a team would have to look at their schedule, consider the travel they may have already committed to and then decide whether to go through application process. I don't have any idea what teams submitted applications, but the teams that are in it should all have good seasons, and Estill should be at the top of the 14th as well.

Did they apply? This isn't an invitational.

Floyd Central will win this one

Are they out of the WYMT viewing area?

Estill County is in the viewing area, but it's fringe.
It's probably a four-hour round trip for those folks in a bus.

Did you see Knox Central play last year?
Putting one pretty good team and one below average team together won't make them a powerhouse over night.

I wish Corbin and Johnson Central was in it.

K N O X will win this tourney next season

Clay is always a tough out in the Wymt but Knox is a stalwart team. Knox will be a strong contender in the Wymt and the 13th region.

Knott will be an exceedingly solid team with a dynamic group of young freshmen coming in that will contribute or should right away. It is being played at Knott and that is an advantage for the Patriots. It will be a different feel taking place earlier than usual but could be a good change for the All A tournament teams.

I would have liked to have seen my dawgs in this. We didn't have a good showing last year, but rebuilding. Look for us to have a bright future. We will be back.

This is always a great tournament. Knox Central will be the favorite but you can't ever count out PCC or Knott Central.
04-22-2017, 04:59 PM
Looks like it should be a very good one.
04-22-2017, 06:02 PM
Love this tournament - they do an excellent job with it. Knox has all the talent to win it, but no sure thing, they've been known to drop games they should win.
04-23-2017, 04:59 PM
Knox Central will be rated in the state as a top 10 team that could go deep in the sweet 16. They will be the favorite and should win this tournament.
