I guarantee you, if Corbin had won, they wouldn't have been worrying about "work" in the morning. Poor excuse and poor sportsmanship!!

that's about the lamest excuse i have ever heard in my life. Still shows no respect for the kids.......if corbin would have won would corbin fans got up and walked out and said we have to get up and go to work tomorrow. W'burg fans have to work too.

Yes, most would have left regardless of who won.

Wiliamsburg went down and hit a 3 with 2.3 left, 63-62. after the time out corbin couldn't get the ball back into play and was called for 5 seconds. Williamsburg hits a shot and one as buzzard expired, but didnt shoot the free throw. 64-63. As for the refs, the were horrible. When the big griffin kid got technical, should have been a double technical on both teams. once the game got to crunch time touch fouls got called on one end and people where geting hammered on the other end. Congrats to the jackets. Happy to see you win this one.
At what point in the 5 second count will they not allow you to call a timeout? Is it once it reaches 4 seconds?

Nice win for Williamsburg. Keep on Keeping On !!!!

my understanding is the ball has to be released before the 5 second count is finished. Many referees will not give the timeout once 4 is reached and the 5th motion is started. I honestly didn't watch the referee on that one.....was watching players on the floor. Heard the whistle and seen he had called the 5 second call.

^^
That interpretation is correct, but like so many other decisions in a game, it's subjective to the official.....NOT black and white.

I was standing in the corner at the end of the court. After shelton score the three. And corbin fans was screaming at the top of there lungs at the corbin kid to hold the ball and let the clock run out. :ref2: had know choice but to call a 5 second call. Thats the truth eriously:

I thought that Wburg called a timeout after the three, so the clock wouldn't have been running.

I remember looking at the clock when shelton hit the three and saying he has to throw it in because theres more than 5 seconds left. Corbin did that against rock on monday night when rock hit a three and cut it to one or two points.......corbin just held the ball and let the clock run out. Too much time for that to happen again.

Me and you SEKYFAN must have been watching another game. Williamsburg did call timeout after the 5 second call. I think that left something like 2.3 or 2.1 on the clock. :HitWall:

williamsburg had no time outs at that point so they couldn't have stopped the clock. Think that's why corbin initially thought to just hold the ball until time ran out but there were too many ticks on the clock.

corbin actually called the timeout after the 5 second call. Coach pietrowski was upset that he didn't get the timeout the first time so he called it anyway. It actually may have helped w'burg since it allowed them to get things under control and try to set something up.

I don't know if anybody call a timeout or not I was texting Granny Bear. Only thing I can remember is my last texts was to Granny Bear saying. Oh my God Williamsburg won. Now I know that's the truth I have proof on my flip phone :phone:

I was watching you instead of the game, thought you were going to have a flashback and try to score that last bucket yourself.:insane:

When Shelton hit the three, I looked at the clock and there was 8.7 seconds on clock and the Corbin kid just held the ball. 5 second call was correct.. Then timeout was made by Corbin...
Great game and not sure Corbin will play that close again with the burg...

Its crazy to think these teams will play again in just 8 days......not sure if topnotch can handle that much pressure again so quickly.

I don't do Facebook but someone who does saw a video supposedly posted by Corbin's coach, showing the last play of the game with a description of how his boys got cheated by the refs. This is just heresay but I wondered if anybody knows for sure if this was really posted on Facebook.
If it didn't happen, then all apologies. If it DID... then I just don't know what to say.
