New players at Perry Central
#61
these 3 players that are now at Perry Central are the same 3 players that went to Hazard's open gym about 3 weeks ago and the guy that they stay with asked for money. That same guy also has called Coach Noble at Buckhorn to see if he's interested in new players.
I've heard from both coaching staffs (buckhorn and hazard) and they both are saying the same things and they both say they told the guy no!

Haha that's hilarious if even if its not true. Makes you wonder how much perry forked out for them? I'm sure buckhorn can come up with a few gas cards to give them?

baseball1974 Wrote:I'd wait before I crowned them so soon. They barely got by Hazard last year in the region tournament. The played Hazard three times. Hazard beat them once and the other two games Knott won by a single basket both games. Now Hazard did lose five seniors I think? I think Knott lost three off their team. If Perry gets the breathitt kid and even just one or two others, then they will absolutely be able to beat Knott. They have a good enough coach to make that work. Not too mention there are a couple teams in the region that can upset Knott in a post season situation. Their the #1 team in the region and will most likely stay in that spot all year. However, they are capable of being beat come tourney time. Hazard almost upset them last year during the tourney. They have a bad tendency in certain situations to "play down" to their competition. Most teams that are head and shoulders above the rest can usually pull out those games regardless. However, they may not be that above everybody else as you may think? They are the beat team in the 14th no doubt about it. But the teams below them can still upset them and I don't think they'll repeat this year. There is more than one team that has made great improvements and if Perry has the new players this year then they are another team added to that list.

I respect your opinion, and we will have to agree to disagree on this topic. With the addition of Perry's new recruits, I feel like they are as talented as Knott, but team chemistry means everything. I have said this in the past, Perry County's best teams consisted of home grown boys, who played together for for years. It is hard to bring in new guys each year and win at the high school level. Sometimes it works, but most of the time time it doesn't. How has this method worked for PCC in the past three or four years? Upsets can happen, and Knott can be beaten, but I don't see it happening this year.

Does "That same guy" have a cordia connection to some of their players from last year?

I remember Perry being very solid back during the mid to late 90's and I'm pretty sure they were all home grown? Actually most of the teams in the 14th then were all local kids. That's when Hazard had the Olinger kid and Knott had some descent teams as well.

Did the 7'2" kid with the 46 inch vertical not make it? Maybe Perry Central run out of money.
#70
This is the same bunch that was on here crying about Cordia everyday.

No one should over look Buckhorn. Based on the summer they are gonna be a tough team. With Cooper running the point and leading in D and their offense has lots of firepower led by Conner Hoskins. On any giving night they could lay a L on anybody. Also with 0 recruits on their team. This group of kids are tough and Coach Noble gets everything these kids have.i really like the trio of Hoskins, Cooper, and Crank.

Buckhorn Dangerous???? Really???? Those guys couldnt even win the Perry County Tournament. Let me say this, they will never beat PCC or Hazard!!!!

What about that kid that has transferred from Paintsville, to Allen Central, to Perry, and now at Magoffin. What is his name?

If your talking about the same kid that I'm thinking about his first name is Jordan, can't remember his last name but he quit on Perry during summer ball and finished summer ball playing for Hazard but he never enrolled at Hazard. The kid I'm talking about was about 6'9".

Hazard plays with mostly what they have, which are inner city kids or wealthy families will send their kids there. They don't anywhere the same sized staff nor population PCC or KCC has. They are built on talent and hard knocks.

What are the names of these players and are they any good?

I seriously hope this was a joke. If not, you are living in another world!

All the kids that have enrolled from New York have been sent away. Kudos to Mr. Jett and the admin staff for doing this. They will be enrolling somewhere else, maybe they will fit in with the new Prep school up in Lott Creek with Coach Rhodes.

#87
Hearing wrong, he is playing this year at Perry, then heading to prep school! Get your facts straight.
#88
I never said he wasnt playing this year at perry. just said he has been in contact with scott co.

ekff Wrote:The statement said "Mostly"... which is true!!!!

The only team around here that "mostly" doesn't apply to is Cordia.

I don't know of a single team around here (not counting the obvious) that gets more minutes from kids that aren't from their area or came from a feeder school.

Get shunned for taking up for Hazard.. Lol.. Some real dreamers on here.
