You have to look at Pikeville and some of the other powerhouses to return to a competitive level this year. I expect a strong season.

The top teams have to be:
1. Johnson Central until someone dethrones them.
2a. Lawrence County loaded with potential
2b. Sheldon Clark loaded with talent
4. Paintsville will surprise most
5a. Pikeville, Huffman, Johnson, May
5b. Shelby Valley, Andrew Newsome
5c. Betsy Layne, Peyton Case

I agree that list and ranking looks pretty good to me. JC has to be number 1 until someone can beat them in region.

Prestonsburg or Pike Central can't beat Shelby Valley or Betsy Layne, I would have to rate them higher until that happens your rankings look pretty good.

The 4 teams from the 57 district are going to be good. The region champ will come from the district.

Lc lots of talent no size inside if they are not hitting their ountside shots or can't score on turnovers its tuff on them with no inside present. New coach who knowns how they progress? I love my dawgs but jc still the favorite.

Not enough shots to go around at Lawrence. just wait and see. Johnson central best team ,I like Shelby valley good team , and Magoffin has two great players in Bolen and Russell they could be good with some inside play. Sheldon Clark has a nice team Parsley is a great player.

this is hilarious!!!! JC is clearly number one and SC is clearly number 2. Sc has 2 new additions that will really help there ball club, but to say any of these teams is better than jc is a joke let alone 2. LC has no size to deal with jc, Sv, or sc

LC earley favorite, well balanced from top to bottom.

Johnson Central is the team to beat, no doubt! LC is a talented team that comes in at number 2 with Shelby Valley, Betsy Layne, Sheldon Clark, and Paintsville in as contenders after that.
LC is good, but I feel as if Johnson Central is too much to handle. JC returns 3 starters off last years team, (Gullett, Blair, and Adkins.) Also adding that Truman Salyer and Patrick Rice played significant minutes last year at over 15 minutes a game each. These guys have the experience and have won the region as freshman, sophomores, and juniors, (excluding Rice, who was at SC for his first 2 years but won it last year) Also add in Mason Blair who is a sophomore and had an incredible summer. These boys will be a tough outing for anyone in the STATE. EXPERIENCE and LEADERSHIP will get these boys another regional championship.
Not to mention that Central dominated the summer by beating LC twice, and I believe by 15 each time, or at least once that I know of, and an Elite 8 finish in the state tournament this summer.
Until LC can knock JC off then Central is the clear favorite.

Coach Tommy McKenzie along with his staff (Jason Shepherd, Scott Holbrook, and Eddie Blair will have them ready for another regional title!
