Ray Kasongo shenanigans
#1
Has anyone kept up with this over the weekend?
#2
not heard anything
#3
I heard a little about this scenario. Did Kosongo ever surface anywhere???
#4
What is going on now??
#6
I think that's really sad.

What makes me maddest is the poster who commented knocking the "education he received" at East Ridge, Pikeville, etc. I can say confidently, he did only what was required to stay eligible. No more than that. Can't force a kid to learn. Pikeville is a top 10 school district in the state, and this kid gets out there and pulls BS like that and we get lumped in with him. Wish Pikeville had never accepted his transfer, talent or not. Brandon Bender, people like him, and AAU ball in general has ruined high school basketball far more than it has helped.

^
If I correctly understand what you are saying...I couldn't agree more!!
#9
Kid has all the upside in the world if he ever gets his head on straight.
#10
Hopefully Ray gets everything straight and stops listening to the people in his ears.
#11
branden bender is kasongo's biggest problem. ray believes everything bender tells him. he has made a fortune off of manipulating kids like kasongo and their families!
#12
So sad.. To one day see the regret of what could have been if he doesn't grab ahold of his life now!
#13
This is crazy! I wonder what is running through his head?
#14
I have not ONE ounce of sympathy for Ray Kosongo. He is now a grown man and responsible for his own actions. He has been given every break, opportunity, and chance in the world. His grades, or lack thereof are his own fault, no one else. If I were a college coach, I would not waste one second on him.
#15
That is the wildest story I've read about a high profile recruit. This guy is destined for the Maury show or Jerry Springer and that's sad
#16
You have it all wrong!! We KNOW who the baby daddy is!!

You was defending this kid to the highest when he was at East Ridge. Once he transferred to Pikeville you have been his biggest hater.

Very disappointing story.

The sad thing about all this is that kids/high schoolers are brain washed to believe everything their AAU coaches or their Promoters are telling them. But at the end of the day the main thing is a kids education. More kids need to start listening to their High School Coaches and School Guidance Counselor's. Because in most cases the High School Coach and Guidance Counselor's are more educated then the AAU coach.

Everytime I get on twitter or facebook I see a AAU Coach posting "It's all about the kids" if your all about the kids then you don't have to say it, your actions will speak for you.

That's because he went to Pikeville based on lies and underhanded shady deals, kinda like what's going on now. you reap what you sow.
#21
So you are saying Pikeville lies and makes shady deals? :eyeroll:
#22
I don't always see the word shenanigans on this site.
But when I do, I know its me or zaga.
#23
Just a disaster of a story.

This is an honest question because I know that you have knowledge about the situation that others don't have and I'm completely ignorant on the whole deal. Where the circumstances different in which he came to East Ridge as opposed to the circumstances in which he came to Pikeville? In other words there were no lies and underhanded shady deals that brought him to East Ridge?

No, there were not. I also didn't mean to say that Pikeville H.S. was lying or using underhanded deals, although there was one person directly involved employed by the school. What I meant was the circumstances that brought him there were very dirty and underhanded. Anyway, what difference does any of it make? It's all long ago and in the past. The point I was trying to make is Kosongo has had every break in the world and here we are having the same conversations about him years later. It will not change, he had his chances and blew it. Sorry if those on here think that's a bit blunt, but that's the way it is.

I am not defending him, but the adults involved in his life have had a hand in his decision making the last few years. If you want to call a spade a spade lets do it. The kid has been made this promise and that promise, steered here steered there. In my opinion he has had a lack of guidance from the adults guiding him the past few years.

Call me crazy but I agree with you on this one. Time to grow up.

East Ridge and Pikeville both covered up multiple incidents so he could continue to play. From trying to fight teammates to disrespecting on a teachers on a daily basis he was given a free pass. He was a head case when he arrived and is still the same guy now. I was blasted when I said he will NEVER play college ball.
