Where will the cordia players go?
#31
cougarpride08 Wrote:Who else could they play against? Out of state? Is there any schools in KY that isn't apart of the khsaa?

There are actually two other leagues:

KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
http://www.kcaaonline.com/MemberSchools.html
31 schools, including Somerset Christian, Lakeside Christian (Morehead) and Wesley Christian in EKY

KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
http://www.kcsaa.net/School_List.aspx
35 schools and home-school groups

If the privates of the KHSAA were forced out, they could easily merge with the KCAA and KCSAA and form a 80-plus member union. Trinity and X would dominate boys' sports and Assumption-Mercy-Sacred Heart-Notre Dame would dominate girls, but it could work.

Plus, KHSAA would have NO control over private schools getting players.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: If the KHSAA wants players to stay where they're at, then it is better to KEEP/INCLUDE private schools than to kick them out. Because if they leave, you have no control over them at all.

Hitter this is still America you are innocent until proven guilty this is not Russia or china. The reason they lowered the boom is because cordia made them look like fools the last couple of years. They have given cordia a deth sentence without even giving them a trial. They have no right to due process. They have 4 statements all from former Cordero players or coaches total bs let's wait and see what happens when they get their day in court.
#33
If them boys stay at Cordia the only league they will play is the blue court league...
If I were their parents I would take my hall pass and go get coached by a real coach and some real players.
#34
When you pay the fee, you agree to play by there rules. It's not like it's the judicial system. Cordia can sue the khsaa but that not for there findings. And they are not going to win. The khsaa interviewed a lot more people than you think and they probably have cashier checks of how they gave the players money

Keita is a good player and a good kid....but see if you can find a VALID birth certificate for him. He will be 18 - at least - in December.
#36
Sounds like another Rhodes hater taking their frustration out on kids.

FYI to the above posters hitter, the Franklin county circuit court has the final say in what goes on the khsaa is governed under 13b in the krs. The way cordia will win is the lack of constitution rights and due process. Also the way the khsaa has gone about this whole investigation is very 1 sided. It is nothing more than hear say. There are some violations but none that would warrant the penalties they have put on them. I really can't give too many details on the specifics of the whole thing just yet but it will work out. Every school and I mean every school around has done the same things cordia has been accused of. The funny thing is on two of their big violations they are aledging 1 was a statement given from a former cordia assistant coach now coaching at perry co central admitted to moving a kid in a house to gain elidigiblity but the kid never moved into the house. The house was owned by the coach in question that now coaches at pcc. This violation occurred while Denny fugate was coaching. The kid transferred from riverside christan. The other was a kid that lived in George branch and did not have any money for school clothes. The lotts creek community school bought the kid clothes to go to school. Come on man this bull. The lccs has programs designed for this kind of thing for every kid that attends cordia. They have been doing it for years. There is not one thing in their entire findings of proof of recruitment. Furthermore all the kids from jersey and NYC there is not one single finding of anyone giving them any money or gifts cloths or anything else. All the statements people say they have they have 4 statements from 4 people. We know for a fact they interviewed at least 8 more and those 8 gave statements that directly refuted or contradicted the other 4 but none of those were included in the findings. Reasons like this is why the KHSAA has a hard time winning when they get before a real judge and not their kangaroo court. P.S. "SEC" keta is not 18 years old I don't have to find a "valid" birth certificate I have seen it. His birthdate is 12-22-1999. His passport states that, his Mali ID card says that and his I-20 says that. He has all those legal Government documents. That is all anyone can go on. It must be taken as face value. Why should he submit to a higher standard than any other kid. You need to take that bull and go somewhere else.
#38
The one thing that's gonna hurt Cordia is if Chris Hudson is apart of this and I'm almost certain he agreed to take KHSAA's side if they let him play last year.

If Kieta was at PCC, KCC or Hazard no one would question age Smile
#40
big big money in these kids coming here. Its unreal the money being handed out for these kids. more kids are coming cant leave the country right now because of a virus. If you could get inside aau basketball just a little it would amaze u big money in getting these kids and big money to make them as young as they can get by with.
#41
Yea that's what it is. Age only matters at 1 or 2 schools.

OutsideLookingIn Wrote:If Kieta was at PCC, KCC or Hazard no one would question age Smile

Yeah...
because no one has ever questioned anything that Perry, KCC or Hazard has done.

I think when Jaysean Paige transferred to Perry there were like 10 or 15 schools that called to question the transfer.
#43
and what connections did he have in the Hazard area?, by way of NY. Not a Rhodes backer, but that is the same thing he is doing just more of it.
#44
"He averaged his 27 points during his junior year of high school in Jamestown, N.Y., and led his team to a state runner-up finish. Paige transferred to Perry County (Ky.) Central High and averaged 21 points and 6.7 rebounds. as a high school senior."

KHSAA did it again.

Waya mean?
Seriously I've heard Cordia is playing this year.
No one has said anything about it. Is it true?
#47
I have watched this from the outside, I have watched kids excell

Find ways to let kids play, don't go with the attitude that every kid that is good is recuited, make Ky high school athletics as good as it can be, what is wrong if I want my child to play for an excellent coach I know at another school. If I knew A school that had an exceptional band director and I moved my child there would any one complain? I doubt it.

^ I asked a simple question.
Are you crazy or something?

BUFORD T JUSTICE I want to thank you for your post, I have had run in"s with KHSAA before I can promise you and I will raise my hand to God that the KHSAA ruled A kid ineligibile that was elgibile by their owne rule it cost him 1 year of his HS elgibility with his father asking and litterly beggin them to just come down and investigate they took one person's word for it. They lost in court after they wouldn't come and investigate, and when they lost in court they ran the clock out because the court gave them 20 days to appeal their ruleing, they took 20 days, then added I think it was 14 days of practice. anyway by going by the rules it ran the clock out AND IT WAS DESIGNED TO DO EXATLY THAT No one gained anything from this and IT HURT ONE PERSON A 14 YEAR OLD KID.

I think they should come under some state of Ky school board control, they are not under any school or state control, I don't think they have to answer to any one concerning expense or spending of money except A self appointed Board of directors who get all kinds of perks. They say this is what we are going to do so come to A board meeting in LEXINGTON and vote yes. I wonder if any one has ever looked into the amount or, the spending of funds to that governmental agency. Do you have any Idea of the salary or structure of expense rules of the KHSAA. Do you know just 1 of the board members. What do they get for their yes votes, UK BB TICKETS, or anything else, I don't know do you. BUFORD you have stood up for justice and some form of an agency control.

Send me A PM or A letter or anything else I won in the end, I have had people contact me from all over the state, I know where the potholes are, if I can help you I will, any way I can. I am not aganst controlling the normal and reasonable rules governing High school athletics, But when they are administered in consistently and some can and some can't. then I think it should be re constructed.
Buford Justice is spot on I hope he will follow up. I don't know if Cordia or coach Rhodes violated any rules, but, I do KNOW THAT NOTHING WAS EVER SAID ABOUT THEM UNTIL THEY STARTED TO WIN GAMES and guess what not one word was ever said when it was discovered that MAYBE the other schools in the area may have had some of the Cordia boys on their teams to.
#52
Go buford justice go pm me and i will donate to a legal defense fund.

Contact your State Rep this thing is and has come under the intrest of the KY. State Legislative Branch I hope they will introduce legislation that will benefit the children of Ky. You have to remember that Tackett and the gang are ahead of you they have made their political contacts to. They know exatly what they are doing or the politics involved. I wonder what perks the board of directors get to keep in touch with their State Reps, and you will find that the KHSAA board of directors are also A bunch of good politicans. If you can find one ask him how many times have you voted on an issue contrary to the wishes of the comissinor.

I honestly believe that Cordia if the refs had called the game the same way they called the others Cordia would have won the regional championship. It was easy to beat Cordia and play by every rule, HOW SIMPLE Cordia was the runningest team in the state with out A doubt. How do you beat A running team? You slow them down. How do you slow them down, if you have the team and the talent you as A coach can design a offense that can do just that, however if you still can't slow them down they can run you out of the gym. UNLESS 1 thing the Refs can slow them down and do nothing wrong that you as a spectator can see. they can do it through fouls. All they have to do is call the game as close as they can both ways. It will take the offense completly away from the running team. I saw the game in the regional tournament, that was exactly what happened, Cordia was running the other team out of Perry Co. I ask you to look up the fouls on both teams I don't think it was pick on Cordia, I think they purposely called that game so close that Cordia had no chance. That is just MY opinion. but it is backed with the total number of fouls called. Every time the team they were playing ran till their toung was sticking out and it appeared that were ready to quit A foul was called on one team or the other and it seamed that the shooting of the foul took all night I noticed the refs took multiple trips to the score keeper. Just go back and look at the total fouls. Not just the number called on Cordia and I didn't keep count but I would be willing to bet that was bad one sided to. I don't think the opposing team had anything to do with it either coaches or Administrators, I don't know but I would bet that the officials assigned to the game were assigned by KHSAA not through normal channels and that was after the courts forced the KHSAA to let them play. People it stinks.
#55
I just wonder, were the officials from Lexington?

Damn, Topnotch. Looks like you're just talking to yourself now...

HD28 Wrote:Damn, Topnotch. Looks like you're just talking to yourself now...

I am going to tell you something that is the Gods honest truth, I rode to Hazard that night with A friend who is from around there and is very well known in those circles he ask me who I was for in that game, I said that I was always for the small school, he said they did not have A chance, I said Why? He said you are not familiar with the 14th region are you, I said no He said Cordia did not have A chance. He said that he would bet me anything I wanted that Cordia would loose. When Cordia jumped out there and looked like they was by fore the better team I almost bet with him, But he said just watch and then fouls started going crazy on both teams then I as little as I know about BB could see what was happening. I will never believe otherwise.
I am sorry, I have never seen anything like that. THIS is ALL MY OPINION. I was not for any team up there I did like to watch the big man for the other team he is A hell of A player. I think last year that that region had better BB than the 13.

I just got A pm that said that some one would close this thread.
#59
That is what we should do they are pretty good so lets just wipe those kids out. And say it is because of the coach.
#60
Go getem Topnotch!! This bunch thinks it is O K as long they are the only ones doing it. And I agree the KHSAA is a joke. They will rule a kid who is in a terrible situation ineligible, and let kids who everyone in the state know is ineligible play if they go to the right school.
