The panthers may have hit a home run with the hiring of new coach James Voight! Coach Voight is the New Mexico 2014 coach of the year. Also won the 2013-2014 state 2a championship and was 2012-2013 runner-up.
He is the son of Pulaski Co coach Jimmy Voight.

So what are yor thoughts about this hire??

I think it's great!! KC did a great job swinging this hire.

I think it is a great that KC went out and found a good coach. The 13th region needs to step up the competition level. Beating up on each other through out the season, only to fall short at the state level. Better competition = Better teams.

Personally I think it was good that KC got away from the good ole boy trouble that seems to happen to a lot of schools in eastern Kentucky.

I think that have broken all Knox Co ties so it will be a good hire.

Good hire. I'm amazed at the number of head coaching jobs still open in the state.

Looks good on paper. We will see next year around this time. Not sure how strong New Mexico is at basketball as a state.

Impressive on paper for sure.
Saw some of Knox Central this summer the talent is there. Anxious to see how this plays out throughout the season.

I have not heard of this guy, but with all the talent at KCC, he is walking into a god situation.

James comes from a great coaching background, His Grandfather Jimmy Coached at the Jr, College leval (I think he won a Jr. College National Championship) He had some good teams at Casey County in the late 70's. His Dad has been very successful in Coaching. Good Luck to Jimmy #1 #2 and #3. Looks like a very good hire.:Clap::Clap:

Good point I remember when North Laurel hired Mark Tucker as head coach they thought they had hit the jackpot. Tucker had recently won a state championship in Oklahoma. I don't think Tucker ever had a winning season and won only a couple games his final year at North.
I remember when Jimmy Voight (#2 I think) coached Whitley Co in the 80s. He was a very good coach.

I think he going to really put his mark on the 13th region. Looking forward to see how things pan out

Good hire but, I don't think he will win the region this year.

That type of hiring practice has plagued eastern KY. It's difficult to tell a guy no I'm not going to hire you when you see them everyday at the grocery and his wife teaches their kids? It's nice to see "the best man for the job" finally be enough in eastern KY? I hope more schools take notice?
