When they talked about bringing Ford in to replace Billy Clyde I just about died.
#63
^Had they done that I might have become a Loserville fan.
#64
If we have that same DUMBASS we have now as A D he will be at the top of the list when Cal leaves.
#65
Or it will be Little Ricky another family name.

How many Division one basketball head coaching jobs you guys have? Being a prick aside...he is not doing to bad.
#68
You don't have to be a D1 basketball coach to know a world class prick when you meet one. Just because Loserville has to resort to them doesn't mean the rest of us do.

You may be the most dyslexic person on here.
My exact post included the phrase "basketball was his only ticket in life" meaning if it weren't for basketball he would have nothing.

Nobody said anything different.

And how would you know? Is that an assumption because you don't like the guy. Like the clown who says "loserville"...lol...hires pricks. Let it be known Cal fits that category. And UK fans were clamoring for Bobby Petrino when Joker was fired. Yes...that same guy.
#71
Great hire
#72
I wasn't for hiring scumbag at any point in time and yes Ford and Pitino are ginormous pricks compared to Calipari.
#73
Poor Loserville fan is in his own world of hurt feelings. Bless hiss heart.
#74
No.....you may have not wanted Petrino....but many UK fans did. You are a hypocrite. But most UK fans are. You didn't want scumbag Petrino, but it's ok to have scumbag Cal and his trusty sidekick World Wide Wes. What is the difference between the two? I will say....Petrino has never left a program on probation. And it's never been more enjoyable than to be a U of L fan. With UK fans....after basketball season ends you have nothing else to look forward too.
#75
Blah blah blah Calipari cheats. Blah blah blah hypocrite. Blah bla blah World Wide Wes. Blah blah blah personal insult of some kind. Blah blah blah I know you are but what am I.

I've got plenty to look forward to Peewee, as a UK alum, both academically and athletically. Football has a stellar class coming in and another lining up behind it. Baseball, golf, softball, the women's basketball team. I'm really pleased.

Don't forget our awesome cheerleaders just won there 20th national title.
Theyve won it like every year since 95 except for two year, with last year being one of them.
#77
How could I leave them out. And don't forget the dance cats either.
#78

The Dance Cats even finished 5th overall this year...
#79
Know some guys who have coached with BP, they say he is the biggest D*** on the planet, this coming from guys who coached with him.
#80
You have to be high school kids. You don't even know your own history. Yep...you have a great recruiting class coming in. Seven SEC schools have significantly better classes. Petrino never had a monster recruiting class at U of L....and still kicked UK's ass. You guys struggle with your "arguments." Because you have no idea what you are talking about. I'm pretty sure at this point you don't even know what "hypocrite" means. By the way....U of L's dance team...has been the best in the nation for the last decade or more.
#81
Name calling is a pretty weak argument.
#82
Are you guys really arguing about dance teams?
#83
No not really. More about Loserville hiring back a criminal to lead their football program.

Where has Petrino committed a crime?? You might ask UK's assistant basketball coach who was arrested last week for locking his wife up in his garage in sub freezing temps and then pouring water on her? U of L had over twenty athletic programs ranked in the top twenty five in the nation last year. Just pointing out to these idiots that's winning. I doubt these guys even know that UK has other athletic programs beyond basketball and the pathetic football program. Tom Jurich has always been about the athletes of all programs...not just the basketball program. It's why U of L has some of the best facilities in the country.

You guys play at the GREASY BUCKET and can't even pay the rent. Don't start talking about facilities.

"Petrino’s hiring of Dorrell wasn’t just sleazy, it was almost certainly illegal–remember that University of Arkansas is a state university and Dorrell was getting paid with state funds–and in direct violation of any number of university personnel and conflict of interest policies. "

The Economics of Scandal: A $55,735 Hiring Cost Arkansas Football Coach Bobby Petrino $18 million

Even now, Bobby Petrino doesn’t get it.

“I have no one to blame but myself,” said Petrino in a statement on Tuesday night, after he was fired as the head football coach at the University of Arkansas. “I chose to engage in an improper relationship. I also made several poor decisions following the end of that relationship and in the aftermath of the accident. I accept full responsibility for what has happened.”

Here’s the problem. Petrino was doomed even before his fateful motorcycle accident.

There are two distinct parts to the Petrino scandal:

The unseemly relationship between a 51-year-old, married father of four and a 25-year-old former volleyball player. Sleazy though it may be, none of this is illegal and it’s really a matter between Petrino and his wife and family.
The fact that Petrino hired Jessica Dorrell over 158 other applicants for a $55,735 a year job as student athlete development coordinator who would report directly to him.
When he put his mistress on the payroll on March 29 three days before the accident, Petrino was doomed. Motorcycle accident or not, it was only a matter of time until one of those 158 other applicants or someone else with a grudge against Petrino dropped dime, and Petrino would lose his job over this.

Petrino’s hiring of Dorrell wasn’t just sleazy, it was almost certainly illegal–remember that University of Arkansas is a state university and Dorrell was getting paid with state funds–and in direct violation of any number of university personnel and conflict of interest policies.

This progression from breaking up a marriage to breaking the law is the reason why Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long had no choice but to terminate Petrino. And why he was able to fire him for cause and avoid paying the $18 million buyout stipulated in his contract.

“By itself, Coach Petrino’s consensual relationship with Ms. Dorrell prior to joining the football staff was not against university policy,” said Long. “However, in this case Coach Petrino abused his authority when, over the past few weeks, he made a staff decision and personal choices that benefited himself and jeopardized the integrity of the football program.”

While Petrino’s contract contained a standard “morals” clause, it was Petrino’s “abuse of authority” that made it easy for the university to take a hard line on the $18 million buyout.

Think about that. Petrino’s annual salary under his seven-year contract is $3.53 million. Which means that Dorrell’s salary was less than two percent of Petrino’s.

Clearly Petrino could have found a way to pay Dorrell out of his own pocket; Long reported that Petrino had already paid her $20,000 out of his personal funds. If Petrino felt the need to continue paying Dorrell he could have hired her as some sort of assistant or consultant and paid her quietly out of the petty cash in his personal account. Not the right thing to do, but also not illegal.

But by putting his girlfriend on the state payroll, Bobby Petrino sealed his fate. And cost himself $18 million, while trying to save fifty grand.

Haven't heard a single person take up for that assistant coach. Pretty lame again trying to select the obvious.

It's not about taking up for him, idiot. It's about a hypocrite who points fingers at other programs for their hires, yet apparently has the same problem in their own house. I could care less that you don't take up for the guy, although you don't have any problem justifying a coach who has left two programs on probation with two seasons and final fours vacated. As for the "greasy bucket" statement I would hope you have been there to have made such another ignorant comment about where the Cards play. I understand the jealousy, but not the dumb comment about the Yum Center. It's a really, really, nice arena. U of L did not want that site but an on campus arena and believe it or not......most fans were against the building of the Yum. Not that they give a rats ass what UK fans think. But it's there and it's a great facility and unless things change and Jurich pulls another rabbit out of his hat and somehow builds an on campus facility... which isn't likely....it's where the Cards will play. I don't think anyone is complaining. Besides...if you know the powers to be behind the decision to build the Yum Center at it's location.....all UK fans, you might understand the Yum Center. Personally I like the location and what Louisville has done in that section of the city. I agree it was way to much to pay. I don't see a demolition soon. On the expansion of Papa John's, the stadium seating will again be increased for the fans.....unlike Commonwealth...where they are decreasing capacity and building more luxury suites for the pocket-filled, fair weather, fat cats to watch the games.
