It is all about location u can play in the northern region and go 5&5 and still be a good football team.Same goes for Mayfield's region, but for Raceland to play those kind of teams every year in their region they are just playing bad football teams . The competition is not the same.In the words of a great ram "if we are not getting better boys we are getting worse" Is the Raceland football program getting better?

Players make coaches. And coaches make players. If for not all the kids coming in from the Huntington area to one of our schools. Even with the coaching staff they have. They would not have won the past couple districts. And regions. And a state final. Not complaining about it. It has all been legal. Just stating that better talent makes better coaches!!

fourth and goal Wrote:But for these weak eastern 1A schools to make it to the quarter finals and finals. Don't they eventually have to play the best of those regions. In past few years Pikeville, Fairview and Hazard all won or played in the final game. Before that LCA was in our district/ Region. They also won the state. They had to play Nicholas, Paintsville and a few other cupcakes like Paris. Becaure they are district games. You still have to play the best of the best to get to the finals. Fairview, Pikeville, LCA have all proved in resent years you can play a pretty easy schedule and still compete with the Mayfields, Beachwoods and others when the time comes. Does Raceland schedule have to have ten top ten teams on it to make people happy. They have Ironton, Ashland, Lawrence Co and a few more very tough games. Tell Fairview they have to toughen up that schedule before they can make it to the final. Oh wait they did. Tell Pikeville they can't win because of the district and schedule you play. O wait they did. Just a little bit silly thinking!!! A couple years ago I followed Mayfield. They won the state. Their district had three teams. The other two teams were a combined 1-20. They played two teams with a winning record. Still one the state. Eight times I believe. They sent in that Northern Ky region.
What was the final score in last years title game? Yes Fairview made it to Bowling Green but let's be real, the real championship game was between Mayfield and Beechwood. That championship was proof that just because you have an easy playoff run doesn't mean you belong there.

I feel the same as you do on that subject .I think that a lot of frustration comes from a lot of old Raceland fans that know the talent level at Raceland right now is pretty good.the coaching staff is not getting the job done. Some of the old ram coaches would be getting so much more out of these same kids. With Blaze,Ramcat, and myself I think that we are tired of some ram fans putting us in the same class as championship programs and we are not even close. If the rams end the season with the same record as last year, getting beat by the same teams is that a good season?

Louisville Christian, and a team from Tennesse. I hardly consider those cupcake teams. Im not saying schedule Highlands but is it really necessary to play teams like Boyd, East an Greenup? I support my Rams and I would love to see them win it all, all I am saying is take those three off the schedule and replace them with respectable competition that will prepare them for an important game against a team they might not blow out.
