I will be shock if cook n napier is not two refs. They always ref when two good teams play. For some reason people in charge of who refs what games always have these two refs at the game. Its like they think they are the best. If they are not the refs it might be a closer game. If they are PCC win by 10 or more. Rhodes get eject from the game in the third period.

The 14th region player of the year award is a pissing contest.
I guess what I am trying to say is..
Let's not go overboard.. If Beverly or Johnson was a senior, the results wouldn't be the same..
As there is a lot more talented players in the 14th region that are not seniors.

Sorry king but i gotta agree with ballers. If you go by that letcher played closer to perry then Cordia and Hazard just thumped lcc which pcc throttled. Powell played a down lions team after a close game which they thought they should have won. They didn't even want to play powell the next day. If you think the Pirates could hang with Cordia with both teams on their A game, your delusional.

I'd like to know what Cordia's A game was. They had every playing. I just don't think Cordia will leave Perry with a Win. I would almost bet anything that Perry will win and oh btw, I've always used common opponents to my predictions threads when I would create one..

But to say that Dalton has done nothing all year is completely off-base and you've not watched them play enough this year.
He carried the majority of the scoring load until Johnson came in, he's always been a great shot blocker, he gets his boards every night and you can count on him to make his FTs.
This team wouldn't be where they are this year without Dalton playing like he has played all year.
Going into the finals of the WYMT classic he had an outside shot on being the MVP of the tourney based on how the final game played out.

Can anyone post season stats for POY candidates in the 14th. Just like to see what they look like. Imo Dalton would be on top if not close.

Speaking of that, that brings up a very interesting question, what website do the coaches go on to vote for the top players and teams in each region?

Cornett gets the job done in A quiet fashion. He is A space eater and is capable of knocking down the 3. He is A real good player but IMO he is not the best in the region. As far as A MVP I would say it would have to be Justice from KCC. He is A pure scorer, sad part is he is the only one they have. Wonder how good he would be if he was A commodore playing with Johnson and Cornett.

The all-state teams are published at the end of the year by the AP and CJ.
Are you talking about the preseason polls?

The inside game of Perry will kill Cordia and Rhodes will get a couple of Tees and Perry wins 76-63.

PCC by 12, Perry has too much inside plus you add in Home Court with it being senior night

Cornett is easily 14th POY. He and Johnson compliment each other so well down low. Underrated jumper for his size and might be Perry's best FT shooter down the stretch. Always seems to hit them. He could do more if he were asked to, with Johnson taking some of the load he isn't required to.

Cornett is very valuable to this team. Not as flashy as Johnson but his contributions to the team are undeniable. Without both teams would easily double or triple team the other. This was always done to Dalton before Johnson became eligible. In the game with Hazard in the WYMT Johnson played very little because of fouls and a nasty spill. Dalton and Braxton carried the load. This team would not be where they are without both big boys. IMO having both is what makes them a match-up problem for teams.

Ballboy, why do you think Rhodes will get A couple of T's do you know something we don't. I have watched Cordia play A couple games this year on nights PCC wasn't playing. If he can take the game with Knott central in the all A and not get teed up then he can take abuse with the best of coaches. I guarantee you that half the coaches in the region would have got it that night. It is pretty bad when the best highlights of the game is of the officials and some of the calls that were made especially when you have the talent of Knott and Cordia on the floor. And why would the assinging secretary put someone on the game if he thought they had A personal vendetta against Coach Rhodes and Cordia. He is from Knott county isn't he. I stand corrected but I believe it is Tommy Hall A long time employee of the Knott County school system.

Cook, Napier, and Dexter reffed the Perry-Knott game and I honestly think it was the best reffed game I had seen all year.
I especially like how Napier nipped all of Knott's coaches jumping off of the bench after every call in the bud.
Letting more than one coach off of the bench at once is a rule that never gets enforced and it was one that always killed me.

If he would would assign Brian Napier to a Knott-Perry game then he doesn't have a vendetta against Knott.

The problem I have with Cook and Napier is that if the game has been at KCc they would get the benefit of their calls. that is how cook and napier are. They arefor the home team or who ever get to them before the game. The two worst refs in the region.

If Tommy Hall wants to help KCC out dont you think that he would maybe Put Don hall and two of Knotts very own refs calling the game at PCC. Cook n napier will also call the PCC and Hazard district game as wel.

Cook is one of the better officials in the region when he wants to be!!! The region has some good officials, but when you want everyone to know you are in the building that kinda eliminates you from the list of good officials LOL!! Just hope it is A good called game and may the better team win. NO EXCUSES!!!!

I am not sure if everyone knows how officials are picked to call games but I will try to explain it.
Before the season starts all coaches in the region rate officials from 1 thru whatever number. The coach also has the option to veto one or so officials they dont want to call their games. In a high caliber game the assigning official will try to balance it so a particular coaches top refs gets to call the game and will try to find another official for the third person who is close in the rankings between the 2 coaches. That is not to say both coaches will get their #1 but they may get a top 5 each and the other one could be one both have in their top 10. Its not a perfect system but thats the way it is suppose to work. If both coaches had a particular coach in both their top 5s that ref will surely get the game.
No one knows who the coaches picks unless they tell but it is usually common knowledge some of the refs they rate high because they call alot of their games. Not sure if everyone knew this but I hope it helps.

Sucks that I will be at the game and not be able to root for a team. I'm a Perry fan and a Cordia fan, but I expect a close game. Perry with a better inside game and Cordia with better guard play. I think bench play is key, if Stacy hits the three like he can Cordia will not win.

I said nothing about the refs in this game was only responding to someone asking about who was in charge of appointing the officials. Facts speak for themselves. I have said on here many times that I think Brian Cook is one of the best refs in the 14th region. I was at this game thought it was pretty evenly called game. The reason Perry shot so many free throws was Knott was behind about seventeen points with about five minutes to go. They started fouling Perry just as they inbounded the ball with about five minutes to go. They wanted to put Perry on the line in hopes they missed the free throw. They did miss quite a few. Dexter is also a decent referee. Spuds has his ups and downs. IMO they are all better than refs from the 15th region. I think Perry has marked Don Hall off their list. I know Hatcher had marked him. I'm not sure about Spurlock. But he used to be one they had marked as unacceptable.
Peace be among us.

The best officiated games I have seen this year was when the bluegrass association referees called the games. They are so much better than the 14th or15th region refs its not funny. If I were over the district or regional tournaments that's who I would get. Cook, Napier, and dexter seem to go with the mood of the game. If one team is making a run on another team then they will make the calls for the team making the run even though it may not be the right call.

I would really like to see Cordia win this game!
But Commodores are too much for them!!
