Should be a good game. Cov Cath better have some toughness to them as JC is very physical. I have to say I think colonels by a td.

Looking for an honest answer from JC fans; how is this years team compared to last years team. Last years team was way down from the previous couple years and unless JC has improved a lot, I can not see them beating a much improved Cov Cath.
As far as Cov Cath goes, like I said they are much improved, but still not the power they used to be (as proved by end of year lose to Conner). If JC improved a lot from last year, than they have a shot, if not, I see Cov Cath winning. Once again I think JC's pass D will be a key if they are to win. Cov Cath's running game was not too impressive and they will go to the air early and often on JC. CCH D has nice size line, but not great speed which HHS exploited with their speed. Can JC do the same or are they going to try to run between the tackles for 3-4 yard gains, which I think CCH could stop.
First round of playoffs are a waste and in the 2nd round we should really start to see who are the contenders and who are the pretenders. Looking forward to results of this game and well as Boyle/RC, and Lex Cath/KC.

It is hard to root for CCH, but I guess I will be in this one just because I would not be able to make it down to JC for the next game if they won. All though I do have a good time visiting the state parks down your way.

JC is better you can't key on 1 guy. The biggest improvement to me was the Qb. Idk if they have improved enough to win this game but it will be close.

JC is throwing the ball a little more than normal too.

I think CovCath has to be the favorite, as they have been dubbed all season, but I don't think the gap between them and Ashland/JC is nearly as much as some people think.

I think JC is a better team offensively and defensively. The OL gets a much better surge this season, and their defense flows very well. Where JC is vulnerable and where CovCath will hurt them, is their pass defense. I truly feel JC will have quite a bit of success offensively and will move the ball effficiently on the ground, but I am also expecting the Colonels to move the ball effectively through the air. JC is not a passing team... they are better than last year..but if JC is relying on their passing game more than just to take a thought out shot down the field...they will not win.

The irony is I think JC matches up better to Highlands than Ashland, and Ashland matches up better with CCHS than JC. If this was Ashland playing I would actually predict the Tomcats to beat CCHS.

I am going to say:
CovCath 31
JC 20

They key to this game is the JC D-line. If they can get pressure on the QB and force him to force some throws I think JC has a legit chance at an upset. If Bir has time to survey the field I simply can't see JC winning though.

Should be a great game...I'm picking the Colonels in a close one 42-35 if they win the turnover battle, if not, JC!

:Clap:I am picking Cov-Cath to win 45-28. Then Ashland takes care of FTH and we get to play the region championship at Putnam.

As much as I hope you are right. That's a tall order to see both FTH and JC losing. Plus part of me wants another shot at the eagles.

I am pulling for JC but I think CCH will win by 7

Dont care who we play as long as we WIN. Should have beat J.C. 2 weeks ago so a rematch with them would be fine too. Would love to have another game at Putnam with a region championship on the line.

Why? I agree with CCH by 21, JC dropped a lot in talent last year and CCH has been on an upswing and is playing like a top team in 4A. Unless JC has improved head and shoulders over last year, I expect CCH to have a fairly easy victory.

Terrible towel Friday everyone bring your JCHS towel to the game

Terrible towel day Friday . Bring your JCHS towel to the game

I think JC will pull out by 7 and beat CCH, So let's bring it JC beat um down!
#25
JC has 3 RBs that can break you down, run over and through you then out run you from one end of the field to the other. Their O-line is fast from the snap, physical and penalty free. D-line is just as fast and stronger, linebackers will lay the wood and the secondary is fast and playing heads up and not chasing receivers this year. By all rights, Ashland should have beat JC. Ashland wanted that game more and JC played flat, but for 2 plays JC wanted it more and, well you know that outcome. JC is hard to beat at home and Matney has had CCHS number since losing in the state semi final to them at home. JC in a close one at a 6 point home favorite.

I think Sam Preston and the rest of the JC defense steps up to make it tough road for covcath
JC 24
Covcath 21

Not related to this game, but I did want to take the opportunity to congratulate JC's 7th grade team. Ater back to back years of being the state's 7th grade middle school runners up, today they own the title of State Champions after a 20-8 decision over Bowling Green.

IMO it depends on which JCHS team shows up. The JC team that beat Ironton was really clicking on offense and hard to stop. The JC team that beat Ashland was out of sink for most of the game, then vs Belfry they played even worse. I trust that coach Matney will have his team ready. If JC gets the ground game going and can eat up clock I look for them to win this game. I think JC's defense will be ready in my mind its the Offense that has to play well for them to win.

JC wins 34- 21, CC will know they have been in a football game when its over.

TongueoliceLig It was a sight to behold.... watching the buses being escorted in to the County by about 10 fire trucks and about 200 cars. TongueoliceLig

Then making the victory lap around town and pulling in to the Middle School parking lot to see 100's of more fans there to celebrate. :letsparty :Cheerlead Confusedinglepar
