Final.

About what I expected. Fairview is a machine this year.

About what I expected. Paintsville can't compete with many schools even with only 17 kids dressed. This has to be demoralizing for those youngsters. I hate it but, it is what it is. Paintsville Football is about to fall into the Ghost Buster status.

When the playoffs get going, that Cabell-Fairview machine will turn into a windup toy.

Actually 68-20 was the final. Not that it makes a difference. These kids - all 17 or whatever the number they dressed tonight sure do give it all they've got. To say it demoralized them isn't acknowledging that they go out there no matter how outmanned they are and play hard. Fairview has an awesome team - by far the best we've played. Other than the late hits, I think both teams showed good sportsmanship. Can't wait to see a healthy Tiger team!

It would be demoralizing for any kid to deal with what the Tigers have dealt with this season and the past few seasons actually. They do play hard and thats awesome but it's got to be tough knowing who's coming and knowing you can't stop them. I don't mean to put the Tigers down I just speak the truth.

Decided to come over and watch Coach Musick's boys play Paintsville. Paintsville couldn't keep from turning the ball over tonight. The QB had four turnovers and two of them got ran back for scores. #11 (don't know name) for Paintsville is a heck of a football player. Isn't very big at all but is a tough kid. Fairview is a darn good football team. Paintsville shouldn't hang their heads one bit. They played hard for four quarters and never quit. Why did Runyon get thrown out?

That's a lot of points.

Why did Runyon get thrown out?He was ejected because of arguing with an official over 4 or 5 penalties that should have been called for roughing the passer. Hats off to the kids from Paintsville as they battled all night, but were simply out manned and were beaten by a extremely talented football team tonight. One of the better Class A teams I've seen roll into Paintsville in quite some time. Also shout out to freshman Luke Trimble tonight on returning a kick for a touchdown, rushing for another, and I want to say he had over 100 yards receiving tonight too. Kash had a few turnovers, and suffered what looked like a rib injury late in the 1st quarter, keeping him out of action the 2nd half. Hoping for a speedy recover for him, and good luck to the Tigers the rest of the season. The injury bug has definitely bitten Paintsville this season. I counted 14 kids wearing pads when the game ended.

This was awful to listen to but it sounded good the first five minutes anyway.
Really though, these kids will learn a ton from this lopsided loss and get better from it. That's what this season is about anyway. Hats off to Fairview.

Way to go Eagles! Paintsville's few players have nothing tp hang their heads about either, they bust their butts everyday to represent a great school when they could be home playing xbox like so many others chose to do!

You said it, Pal. Wearing my Tiger Pride like a badge of honor, I will support these young fightin' Tigers with all I have all the way to the finish because that is how they play - with all they have, and all the way to the finish. Mad respect. Big ups to Luke for a breakout performance against a beast of a team.

Because he doesn't want to coach against Raceland and Nicholas Co. because he knows the outcome will be the same. Plus in 10 days he can start basketball. He definately wasn't the answer for a program already going in the wrong direction. Keep Chirico and let him bring in quality coaches and in a few years these young men will be competing again.

The score does not indicate how well our boys played last night they battled the whole game and did not let it get them down. As for Fairview from what I had heard I expected a classless bunch of SOB's to come rolling into town last night. But what I saw on the field was a well coached team, with a ton of talent and speed. As pupaw said this is one of the best teams I have seen play at paintsville in a while. Kudos to #33 for the eagles I wanted him to play so bad I couldn't stand and when he got the ball I was more excited than the fairview faithful. Him being allowed a chance to earn his spot on the field is a testament to a program that I have some new found respect for. Best of luck Eagles on the rest of the season you guys are flat out awesome. and as always
GO TIGERS.
GO TIGERS.

I always thought the motto was "win as a team and lose as a team." Kinda cowardly but I guess I could see it now. Once again hats off to the players from Paintsville. Those boys never quit or felt sorry for theirselves when they easily could've. JC fan or not, you wish those kids the absoulute best in the future when you see heart and pride like that at their weakest moment. Best of luck Tigers!

Paintsville is one of the traditional small school powers. I hope to see them return to their past glories.

Coach Runyon called that timeout to "get the Referee's attention" to try and get them to call roughing the passer penalties because his QB was getting hammered after nearly every pass he threw. Nothing dirty, but still roughing, and a responsible official has to make those calls as his primary duty is to PROTECT the players. Coach Runyon doesn't need anyone to defend him, but for an anonymous internet poster to opine that he would ever duck an opponent in a cowardly fashion is too asinine to ignore. Coach is neither a Savior, nor a Saint, and he would never claim to be. However, he is as fierce and dedicated of a competitor as one could ever find the words to describe, and his loyalty to his players cannot EVER be questioned.

Serious question in high school football is there a difference between actually getting thrown out, or getting two unsportsmanlikes, as there is in basketball with getting ejected, and getting a double technical? Because If I saw right he had two penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct not a actual ejection.

Hate to see the score of this game. Although the score ended up lopsided, and may have been that way the whole game, but looking at the stats it appeared as if Paintsville had success passing the ball until Kash went out in the 2nd. The future seems to be bright for the Tigers, it's a shame though that the level of interest in football at Paintsville has dropped to the point it is now. I can remember a few years when I played at Paintsville ('99-'02) that we had 50+ players!
As for the ejection, regardless of 2 unsportsmanlike penalities or just an ejection handed down by the official...I believe it still constitutes in a suspension for the head coach (might be 3 games, can't remember if the KHSAA changed it going in to this year).

Any word on Kash yet?

Any one know how long Kash is out?

Coach Runyon has never backed down from anyone that I have ever seen. This man was only taking up for his player. Kash was getting beaten to death. Late Late Late and the official swallowed his whistle for whatever reason. Fairview is a great team no doubt about it. His ejection was a complete joke . This official should be ashamed of himself for taking this coach away from his kids . Runyon had actually turned around and was heading back to the sideline when he was ejected. A little cowardly if you asked me. This official should be disciplined in some manner.

I was at this game as well. The official that ejected him is the top official in the area with several state title games under his belt. BMR thinks he can do and say what he wants and no one will do anything about it. Well its time for him to come off his high horse and back to reality. He is no different or no better than anyone else. And as I BOLDED in the quote, BMR is the coward, he is the one who quit on his kids and his team and now he is out for the remainder of the regular season. A good coach would learn to shut his mouth after the first unsportsmans-like penalty.

He did it on purpose. He's used to being on the hardwood by Oct.15 anyway.

Are you not also an anonymous internet poster? Or is your first name Forearm, last name Shiver? Say hi to old man Shiver for me.

I have to respectfully disagree with this. I don't think there is any coach looking to get thrown out of a game on purpose. He had his say from what I was told by the many that were there and thats it and he got tossed. As for the basketball thing most of his starters are on the football field so how does that benefit anything? Best of luck to the Tigers

Sound to me like Ike is the coward, hiding behind his computer. So easy to bad mouth someone anonymously.
