Belfry was a pretty legitimate football team in 1979 when we beat Highlands 14-8 (without our best halfback too), As well as in 1990 when we took you guys 38-7.

We're down 3-2, considering 2 of the all-mighty HHS wins were in the 60s (Belfry football really came on strong in 1978) we're hardly complaining.

Personally, I don't post here or BGP near as much as I used to. No particular reason I can put my finger on. Just don't. Most of the non-game threads are the same old stuff, over and over again (i.e., which teams are mountain teams). Not complaining; it is what it is.

As for the game threads, I read them, but unless it's a game I watched, usually don't have anything to add. As the playoffs get closer and the likelihood of a Highlands vs. eastern Kentucky school matchup loom bigger, I'm sure that will change. Have never actively participated in prediction threads. Trying to accurately predict what teenage boys are going to do on a Friday night is a somewhat futile act.

When I was on the KHSAA BOC, I participated in threads involving the KHSAA to try and keep things straight. But I've been off the BOC for about a year and a half, so my knowledge of what the KHSAA is doing has somewhat diminished.

As for Highlands fans generally, we have a pretty decent smattering of fans on here. Some think they are like shock jocks and try to just irritate folks. The rest of us like to post only when they have something valuable to add.

How the Bears looking this year? Still look back on our trip to Harlan County with good memories. The folks we met from down in those parts were great folks and were very nice to us.

That's somewhat true, zaga...we've lost a few to graduation.

The Bears were inconsistent in the first couple of games this year, charlie. I expect that will change, if it hasn't already. The fans are still at the games in great numbers. I enjoy that atmosphere so very much!!

I'm glad that you have positive memories of your trip to Harlan. Some of the best people in the world live here, and then we have some that aren't so great, as most places do.

I'm also glad that I was able to intercept and help with your travel plans. You've no idea!! I was afraid you guys would end up booking a place that was meant for the RV parties that come in here. There's absolutely nothing wrong with those facilities, as long as you know what you're getting. Being built and meant for the RVers, the amenities are lacking for folks who just want to watch a ballgame, then relax in a hot tub!!

Warmachine is usually done after predicting a 10-0 season and losing the first or second game every year.
The rest were all clones that like to repeat each other except for Aslan, he was the only one good at discussion and reasonable, the rest, smh....

Nice! I wasn't sure if there were any of you guys on here or not. Louisville is definitely an area where we are lacking on here IMO. I honestly thought Coachdad was the only one.

Seems weve always lacked in lville and lex school fans, and those are the biggest schools in the state, not to mention scott county, which i believe is the biggest public school in the state, ive never seen a scott county fan on here.
