Johnson Central @ Perry County Central 8/24
#61
Oldschoolplayer Wrote:i'm going with PCC in this one. Its hard to win there! You have to beat a very good team and the refs as well.

Don't worry. Johnson Central will get home cooked. If they want to win they better get up early and never turn it over.

What we have here is 2 teams that will doing what they do every year by early to Mid-November. Playing basketball.
#63
Only difference is that Johnson Central won't be very good. Shane Hall is good but Perry embarassed them last year

Johnson Central by 2 Touchdowns. But now PCC is playing for something else than just a W.

And I can distinctly remember Johnson Central laughing at Perry Central all the way down to Lexington when March rolled around. They played in Rupp when the games count, and Perry Central?......well, they couldn't even get out of their own district. They did get to listen to the games on the radio though.

You speak the truth. Can't fault you there.
But we musn't fool ourselves into believing that winning the 15th region last year was anything to brag about. Congrats to the beagles for playing the schedule and front of them and making a trip to rupp, but c'mon...
Johnson Central would have been lucky to get out of 2 maybe 3 districts in the 14th Region.

Didn't the state champion come out of the 15th region about two years ago? Yeah, I think it did. And the last time the 14th won a state championship was when? Yeah, that's what I thought. Seems like I remember Perry having to import players just to be able to compete, and they still couldn't get the job done.. I doubt that you had anything to do with anything to begin with, so I cant figure out what you've got to run your mouth over.

Crawl back under your rock junior.

If Pray controls the game and the team doesn't tire out at halftime then ill take PCC but if Haddix tires to turn Pray into a passer the JC should cruise.

That they are, I guarantee they come out fired up and ready to play tonight.

This is such an original comment.

Carr Creek in the 1950s, probably won't change for a long time unfortunately. Getting Jaysean was great for us, but Perry would have definitely been competitive whether he was there or not.

I like Pcc I just think jc has too much offense to replace

I hear a lot of blahh
Some blah
And a little more blah

Congratulations on Shelby Valley winning the state title a few year ago. I'm still not quite sure what that has to do with Johnson Central being unable to compete in the 14th region - also realize that Perry Central was as good as SV that year. If you don't believe me you can check the record books and see what happened when they played.
Thank you for my lesson in irrelevance. If you want to tell me that Johnson Central is better than Perry or that they would be able to compete in the 14th Region then I'll listen to your arguments.

What is perry central playing for other than a W?

PaintsvilleTigerfan Wrote:What is perry central playing for other than a W?

I assume pride. Since they laid down last week and let Prestonsburg beat them when it was looking like a blowout early. I'm sure there is plenty of bulletin board material from all of the beagle faithful as well.

I wonder if the bolded part has anything to do with the three Perry Central graduates that usually officiate their games? Sadly those same three will be officiating the game tonight. The Prestonburg fans from last years's game know exactly what I'm talking about. Who is the assigning secretery in the 14th region?

Uh, don't you mean they laid down because they couldn't stand up when Prestonsburg started playing in the 2nd through the 4th quarters? PCC didn't give anything to Prestonsburg. The Cats gave PCC the whole first quarter and 12 points and then they started playing and took the game back. PCC had no control when the young cats started tackling and playing offense. If you thought the 1st quarter looked like a blowout, how did you like the 4th?

PCC may be playing for pride because, they got clobbered by a 2A school with a bunch of guys who were in 8th grade last year and a Sophomore quarterback among others.

By clobbered I guess you mean that they lost a game to the black cats because they didn't make as many extra points. I find it funny that everyone wants to throw around the class argument on here but when a smaller class team beats a larger class team all we hear is:
ha ha ha we were a smaller class

and if a larger class team beats the smaller class team all we hear is:
wah wah wah we were a smaller class

give me a damn break. If not for a few mental mistakes and a god awful scramble and a lucky heave to the endzone we would be hearing nothing but Pburg fans crying about how they got beat by a 5A team and it's not a big deal anyway. Perry Central GAVE that game away and if you don't believe anything else then you are simply blind to the truth.

What's there to reply to? Nothing except a bunch of smart elleck nothings from obviously a punk kid.

Obviously PC cant win a game when it counts. The 30 some odd games before the district tournament are nothing more than practice junior, so any game you want to post a score of is irrelevant to anything. Like I said, I seriously doubt that you had any impact on anything to begin with. Just one of those kids that more than likely was never able to make the team to begin with.

Besides a fumble on what was going to be a touchdown and an onside kick, and making at least 4 dumb penalties that negated first downs and killed drives? I think they did indeed give Pburg some opportunities. You've been spouting that off all week, congrats on the win, but you might want to focus on Sheldon Clark now. Also, clobbered isn't the word I would use, considering it took you until the last minute of the game to take the lead, I would reserve 'clobber' for beating someone 56-0, not 27-24. Also, the playing for more than a W part is more of an internal matter I don't want to jump into. It has nothing to do with last weeks game or football at all for that matter, and that's all I have to say about it.

May I mention that on the onside kick it went about 30 yards and the Commodores just sat and stared at it.

I never made a huge impact for PCC because I was only there for one season and spent my other 3 as a navajo. But I guarantee you that I cracked more helmets than 90% of the people on this board. Thanks for saying that my posts are irrelevant, though. The fact that we are talking about Johnson Central not making it out of the 14th and you bring up Shelby Valley winning a ring 3 years ago really taught me a lesson in relevancy. I take it relevancy only refers to what you're thinking about and not the topic on-hand. Glad to see you've awoken from your pappaw nap to ramble a little more.

I didn't realize what it was referencing until just now. But it definitely doesn't need to be mentioned on the board but I can sure see the team getting fired up to give it their best.

Yes and you've been acting like a little bitty child all week. The only reason I posted this was because you and some others are in a high state of denial. No matter what happens this week or the rest of the season, for that matter, to either team, last week's game was pretty obvious to the unbiased.

I could make a lot of points and correct you here, but I would be wasting my time.

Thanks for replying. I hoped you would.

I don't know if this was referring to me, but if it was, what is a smart elleck nothing? I'm far from a kid and wasn't even trying to be smart. I have my opinions, others have theirs. And BTW, I tell it like it is. If Prestonsburg had stunk, that's what I would have said. If PCC had played a great game, I would have congratulated them. Neither of the last 2 things happened.

Getting ready to take in tonight's games.
