we played them back 2008/9 in this same tournament and they pounded us 64-41 but what killed Estill was free throws. Idc who you are if you are 5/17 from Free Throws you aren't gonna win many games

Impressive showing by the Engineers!!! Seems like Estill is kind of up and down this season because I have seen them play really good against good teams like tonight and then they have played well below their potential in several games as well. Hopefully they will be consistent as the season continues!

Hope I'm wrong and things get better but I just don't see it getting better.... how long will Bentley be at Estill??? Heard they had a parent meeting the other night concerning the coaches??? that was straightened out. It was a good showing. We played this team back in 2008/9 and lost 64-41. Estill has played a tough schedule for this young of a team that they shouldn't have been playing but that's not the coaches fault he had to take what what he could get. He tried to get Bath County, Garrard County and a lot of other small schools that we could compete with this year but couldn't because there schedule was full

Strike didn't mean to sound as to blame the coach so if I did then reframe not looking to blame anyone... but I disagree about tough schedule i'll give you E.Jess and Southwestern but the others well I wasn't impressed... as for the young thing goes it shows they have 2 sr and 5 jr ?? well not that young... I don't care what class a kid is in if he can play than he can play... but this young excuse well it's an excuse in my opinion... if you get to player rotation than you only play 7 players maybe maybe 8 ... Oh yea but Ryle was alot better back than they won the 33rd district.. this was there 5th game with a loosing record... but hey I hope Estill can get turned around I hope the players are in that gym every available second they have.. become gym rats... Boyle County may only have 2 wins but there good. There fast. In the Madison Southern game, everything Southern threw up went in. Estill played very good against a good Holmes team. Not sure what happend in the Somerset game. What's really killing Estill is missing Free Throws. Hazard was the worst officiating game I have ever seen, Estill got absolutley no calls.Anderson County is tough. There still undefeated. Estill played good against Ryle. Ryle has some huge players on there team but the downfall is Free Throws. Coach Bentley had them out there this morning practicing before we left to go over to Powell County and he's gonna have them out there tomorrow before we leave as well. How can you not say this is a young team? We have a Freshmen and 2 Sophomores that start. and the other 2 are Juniors. Anyone you ask they will tell you that this is a young team. Next Year will be the team to watch they could be better than last year's team



Ryle just beat Grant County by double digits. So Ryle will play either Powell or Gallatin County in the Red River Classic Championship

2 sr and 5 jr is not a young team it just says that your older kids can't play.... lol lol ok I guess the best thing to do is to continue to make excusses.. i blame this... i blame that... instead of your looking at yourself and saying what do I have to do to get better... no no no don't show up at 11 or 12 and go over things... you really want to find who wants to get better... call for volunteer practice at 6am... see how many show up... get there in the morning and shoot 500 free thows then in the afternoon and shoot 500 free throws... but i guess the best thing and easiest thing to do is to contiunue to make exceusses... find that alot these days not only in sports....oh yea the schedule again not very tough and as for anderson they havn't really played anyone gosh look at there schedule... fr and two soph that start... should they be?? hmmmmmm I've heard other things and I heard they have a kid suspended for couple of weeks... Anderson hasn't played anyone? are you kidding me? Walton-Verona, Washington County are good teams along with others. It doesn't matter what there record shows it's how they do in games is what makes them good. We have more players than what KHSAA shows even tho they don't play Varsity. Estill beat them selves against Wolfe County, Ryle, Prestonsburg, Powell County. Couldn't make our free throws. If we had it would have been a lot different. Those teams made their shots when Estill didn't. There's no sense in getting on forum board and bashing kids, you do it to the Softball Team too and it really is uncalled for. You probably don't think you do but you do, saying a team sucks is basically saying these kids suck which I know they know they aren't the best team in Kentucky. Estill will be fine. They will win some more games before the season is over.

Football and Basketball are in re-building seasons. Football should be slightly better next season. It's hard to replace the talent that these teams had last year. Next Year Estill will be a good team possibly Top 5 in Region and Pre-Season #1 In Districts with the talent there gonna have returning. Softball should be about like it has been past 6 Years. Should win anywhere between 15-20 games or more and be incontention for another Regional Title. They have 8 8th Graders coming in that went 56-10 during there middle school careers. If the Coaches can get the players to stick together the future of Estill County Athletics is very bright.

Estill County starts a freshman point guard, two sophomores, and two juniors: that is a young team. I don't know if Estill's players put in much extra work or not, but the number of players in the state of Kentucky showing up at 6am to shoot 500 free throws is not the issue, as that number would be pretty small. How many small conference teams in college go into league play with a poor record because of a tough schedule, yet go on to have success in conference play? I suspect Estill County will do well in the 56th District, and in January and February will be better than in December. You read like a hater, whether you are one or not I don't know.
