Sydney Cloyd belted a three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning and Collins rallied for two more runs in the top of the seventh to defeat Grant County 6-4 in an Eighth Region softball semifinal at Simon Kenton on Tuesday night.

Kara Owens went 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI for the Titans. Katelyn Roy had two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Lady Braves (26-12).

Collins (23-14), a first-year school, will take on Walton-Verona at 7 p.m. Thursday for the Eighth Region crown.

Down to its final five outs, and trailing 4-0, the Collins softball team rallied for a 6-4 victory over Grant County in the 8th Region semifinals Tuesday night at Simon Kenton.

Bailey Rankin's RBI-single and freshman Sydney Cloyd's three-run home run in the top of the sixth inning tied the score at 4-all before Amanda Buresh's RBI-single in the top of the seventh put the Titans on top for good.

Kara Owens added an RBI-double after that for Collins (23-14), which will meet Walton-Verona at 7 p.m. Thursday in the 8th Region final in Independence. The Bearcats (28-10) beat Spencer County 5-2 in the other semifinal.
