UK/UCONN updates
#1
UK ice cold to start, but it looks like Jones might have a good game. UK will be tough to beat if Jones can go off and the others settle down and play.
#2
We need to settle down and play are game/.
#3
Cats are letting UCONN intimidate them they have to wake up or its over,no calls froms the refs.
#4
Bad looking first half. Josh being out hurt. Vargus is 0% scoring threat. Jones started off nice and then started to force it. Liggins, Miller have not shown up yet. I do not think UCONN looked all that great; if we show up second half, we could win this thing.

- Vargas first sub = UConn 10-0 run
- Jones has been the hardest working Cat on both ends of the floor. He has proven to me that he can play in the NBA based on this half of Basketball
- Too much reliance on BK to do all the scoring
- Too much reliance on the three. We knew we were not going to shoot 55% again.
- Doran Lamb has played horrible D
- UConn's Lamb is the best player on the floor for both teams
- Walker is one of the best leaders I have seen in college in a few years.
- Miller, Liggins & Lamb MUST find ways to score
- Too only be down 10 is not bad. Cats are far from being in trouble. They can make runs, the UConn transition D is not that good.

Looking at the stats. UCONN is shooting 52% and UK is shooting 28%. Fouls are even. Rebounding is basically even.

UK can't play any worse, UCONN can't shoot any better from 2. IF UK can come out and shoot a little better, they can milk that lead away.

UConn is a 44% shooting team from 2, so don't think they can't maintain that level of shooting.

U think they are going to finish at 53% or better? I agree with the premise, but I don't know if they can in this game.

The flow of the offense has been completely absent. I think that Jorts being out has completely shaken the team up and they have not being able to rely on anything other than 3 pointers. I think that they can make the come back but they have to start the half on fire and bring a new intensity to this game. They are being pushed around and are not playing the same way that they have the past two games. Come on cats!!! YOU CAN DO IT!

Yes I do. I'm not sure that UK can keep UConn from scoring in the paint. It's been way too easy for UConn in the paint and they are scoring in transition. Cats must limit the UConn touches in order to get back in the game.

This isn't my view, but all the Cal lovers gave him credit for the all the wins. If we lose, who's fault is it gonna be? Is Cal adjusting for Uconn's game?

The Cats have taken 20 more 2 pointers than 3, thus it's not a reliance on the three pointer. It's that the Cats can't make a two pointer. They are only shooting 28%. I don't care where you shoot from, 28% is not going to keep you in a ball game. For the Cats to only be down 10 is a great accomplishment.

Cats will shoot better in the 2nd half, but now they must limit the number of transition baskets by UConn.
#14
great start to second half! Let's Go CATS!
#15
Miller needs to pass that ball out.

I know it is early but now UCONN is shooting 46.9% overall Wink

#24
Final

UCONN 56-55

Not too disappointed, never expected them to make it this far. Great season CATS! Just could not hit enough threes, or make foul shots tonight. Now the talk begins on who returns next year. This could be a great team if players decide to return.

I could deal with Knight coming back, but I hope to **** Jones doesn't.
