Wow. Let the region get their lickings in. I hope that the team can rebound and learn from something like this but for now it looks like they will continue to have their struggles. Good luck to the Cards and Cats in the future.

Congrats to Kevin Spurlock on his first win with SC! He is a great coach and will do a great job at Sheldon Clark if given a good chance.
#8
Congrats SC.

looks like they end a streak of Valley's. Didn't they go like 2 years without losing to a 15th Region team?

Sv isn't as good as evryone has been saying. Gonna be a tuff next few years for the wildcats.

I was expecting probably around a ten point loss or so. But this margin kind of took me by surprise.

SV is going to go through some growing pains. Playing the same players for 4 to 5 years hurts ya eventually.

This could be a very long season for the Cats. Was Shelby Valley that bad or did Sheldon Clark have a super game? Anyone who was at the game that can give some comments?

shelby valley played terrible. no defense was played. sheldon clark was well perpared just like every time will be when the play valley. valley shot 4-19 behind the 3pt line. as bad as valley played they was within 5 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd then sheldon clark went on a run and valley quit. shelby valley was also without 2 starters in Christian Bartley (eligibilty) and Trey Roberts (injury). my hat goes off to Sheldon Clark they was ready for valley. valley clearly wasnt ready for them.

Sheldon Clark will be a dangerous team come tournament time. Mark it down.

How can a player be a starter when he isn't even eligible? If he's not eligible, he can't even practice with the team. He may be good enough to start (in your opinion) but I wouldn't dub him as a starter. Coach Newsome may have something to say about that.

Congrats SC. SV will have some growing pains, but will be back in a year or 2. To much talent coming up in that area.

Your right he cant practice with the team. But he played at valley for 2 years then wento to east ridge due to family illness. now hes back at valley and everyone knows when he gets ruled eligible sometime next week he will be a starter in a week. Coach Newsome has made that clear.
#23
Either way Bartley and Roberts arent going to make that much of a difference. After last night I dont think Bartley would have been a starter for East Ridge had he stayed. Those guys had a purpose,, which was to make last years team great,, use them for what they are good at and play the young ones and let them make them great as well. Playing 38 minutes and winning is not what they are used to after the past 4 years..
#24
What is taking so long with Bartley's eligibility? If he started school at Valley at the beginning of the year then it seems like the KHSAA would have already ruled on it.
