I Rule The World Wrote:I know Leslie Co. is by far better than they were last year. I know Prestonsburg lost a ton and were better last season. I think Shelby Valley's losses were minimal, but very impactful, and were better last season. But the only reason it was a lopsided win for NCC was depth, and the kids were beat from the start. Reading about the mighty Northern Ky teams and how many championships they have won. It's all about getting the kids to believe they can do it. That's the first and biggest step.Biggest impact losses for SV were on defense, lost 2 seniors that started both ways all 4 years. An Olb & a safety. I agree, NCC wasn't that much better than Shelby Valley. The score doesn't do them justice. SV wasn't intimidated at all by them believe it or not. That Prestonsburg win in the region title game made them feel like they could've beaten Desales in BG. A broken play on the first play was an immediate score for NCC then a punt return in less that 3 minutes. It was 21-0 at the end of the first quarter. I believe that was all she wrote for them. Now don't get me wrong. I believe NCC beats them 10 times if they play 10 times. NCC is very well coached and didn't lose much from last year. Still has the best tailback in 2A Imo. I watched them play beflry this year and they looked good. Didn't win the game but won the first half in good fashion. I'd love to see any team from our district or region for that matter beat them, but, not gonna happen. Even those somerset teams from a couple/few years ago couldn't do it. Won't be any different this year, although I'd love to be proven wrong.

Ncc is several scores better then any team in this district again this season. I really think Danville will be the region champ this season. Danville can give Ncc a good game, I just don't know if they will have enough to beat them

This one will go to Leslie but they will make it closer than people think.

Danville has their work cut out in Dist. with LCA and Somerset, neither is a given. Leslie has a great chance winning their Dist. Go Eagles !!!:flame:

LCA is terrible. Somerset is improved but if Danville doesn't win their district I'll be in shock.

LCA is real inconsistent. When they show up they can beat anybody in the region. Danville is the best team in the region but any one of six teams can win it. SV, Pburg, Leslie, Danville, LCA and Somerset are all capable of winning the region. Probably the most balanced region in the state.

My Blackcats have shown improvement each game this season. We still have a lot to work on, but still improving weekly.
One thing i seen in the Shelby Valley and Hazard games is these boys will not give up, and will fight till the end.
Leslie returns most of last years team, and Prestonsburg returns very few from last years team. We may be out maned for this one, but we still have a bad taste in our mouth from last year. I think containing and getting pressure on Whitaker will be key for victory in this one. Kid has a good arm, and if given time will pick you apart. On the other hand if you don't keep him contained he is as much, if not more dangerous when he has to pull it down and run.
I know Frasure remembers last years game. The Eagles D held him to 34 yards rushing. He will be looking to make a statement in this game. Slone is improving each week at QB, and has more than capable play makers at WR in Little and Hager. We are by far no juggernaut on offense, but this will be the best offense the Eagles have faced this year.
The defense is starting to gel as a unit with different guys stepping up at different times and making plays each week. I look for Ray and Stanley to be key factors in keeping the Eagles offense in check this week.
Get ready for war Eagles. The Blackcats are ready to ROAR!!!!!!!!

64, The 8 Leslie lost, can't hold the players Pburg lost jock strap. It's not even close. Maybe in the numbers game, but as far as talent and players that contributed the most. Prestonsburg took by far the biggest hit.

LC does have solid team this year, but very unlikely to finish 10-0. If they end this season at 8-2 I will be impressed. Pburg, valley, and Whitley county is a tough line up for the Eagles

I will correct you then. Although Prestonsburg lost 2 players to transfer, both Leslie and Prestonsburg lost 11 each to graduation. However, the losses each team suffered are not even comparable. I wasn't able to compare defensive stats because Leslie didn't keep them. I do know Prestonsburg defensively lost the top 3 tacklers, not to mention 7 of the 8 leading tacklers, all but 1 defensive back, all but one on the D-line, and the entire LB core.
Offensively is not even comparable. Leslie lost a total of 1,261 yards and 16 TD's, while Prestonsburg lost 5,201 yards and 54 TD's offensively. Other than Bray and Brock i don't know who started for Leslie, but Prestonsburg lost the entire O-line with the exception of 1. We lost all starting WR's and an elite play maker at QB in Jarrell.
Sorry to burst your bubble my friend, but there is no comparison what so ever in what these teams lost. :welcome:

There really isnt. Bray, Brock, and Mike Smith on the O-Line/D-Line... P-Burg lost a ton and got even worse with transfers...

Gator95 Wrote:No one from region 4 has a chance at winning state. The Shelby Valley and Prestonsburg teams from last year would have their way with anyone in the region this year and they still couldn't get by NCC. NCC's best chance at losing is Danville, and that won't happen. Besides, the west puts a running clock on whoever comes out of the east this year anyways.
Have too disagree with this statement, I believe Danville this year is the best team that has been in our region in last 3 years or so. I think they roll over summerset tonight, I believe that will shine a little light on how good they are.

Leslie has a better at winning their district then lca or somerset has at winning their's. Danville and valley are still the front runners until a team steps and beats one of them

These two teams will get after each other but Leslie has more horses this year. Should be a good game but expect the Eagles to pull it out.

It's not even close man. That team would dismantle anyone in this region. And still couldn't get by NCC. Rolling over this years Somerset team would not say very much to me. They went 0-10 last year and are much improved this year but it will prove not much of anything. Danville is good, don't get me wrong.. But it's not close to these few past somerset teams.
10-10-2015, 01:52 AM
That somerset team was very good, but that was 3 or 4 years ago. That's proably last team out our region better, I do agree with that

Somerset is a contender this year, much improved from last season
