Well, from experience playing high school basketball in WV and in KY, i played against state champion teams in WV, and they could not hold a candle to a mediocre team in KY. Basketball here is just so much better. But still, beating the #1 team in a state by 23 is a good win. Congrats EC

Congratsto Elliott!! I hope they all stay uninjured and healthy!! I believe they can compete with any team in KY, but an injury away from being Top 5 team in state to maybe (MAYBE) getting upset in the 16th.

It would be nice to see Elliott become state champs, and kinda funny too because Elliott Co. doesn't have any red lights so it would be amusing to have a parade in Sandy Hook.

PARIS — Jonathan Ferguson apparently had seen enough.

Elliott County led South Charleston (W.Va.) by just 49-47 early in the third quarter Saturday, and the senior guard wanted to do something. Did he ever — 14 points in less than five minutes on the way to a 107-84 win in the Kentucky Bank Shootout at Bourbon County.

Ferguson finished with 34 points, including 8-of-15 from 3-point territory. But it was the one-man offense in the third quarter — part of a 27-6 run — that had Lions fans screaming.

The barrage started with a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 6:12 left. He followed with a right corner 3 with 5:41 remaining.

Yeah, that team led by some guy named Mayo and some other dude named Patterson a couple of years ago was just terrible. Any mediocre Kentucky team would have beaten them.
