USA TODAY Highlands Ranked #2 in the Nation
#8
charlie22 Wrote:Thanks SK. We're smart enough to know that national rankings aren't real accurate, but it is fun seeing the team ranked so highly. While it's more fodder for our over the top fans (and maybe makes us even more cocky in the eyes of some) it's good for Ky high school football to have a Ky team ranked so highly. It truly "says" good things about the improving quality of play in Ky. We may not be able to be ranked as highly next year (you never know though) but if we don't, hopefully some other Ky team will have an outstanding year and we can continue to have a highly ranked Ky team. In my opinion, Highlands high ranking is due in part to the past great success of not only Highlands, but also is due to the great past success of teams like Trinity and X. Those teams have acquitted themselves very well over the years. When Highlands beats a team that beat both of them, it makes Highlands look even better because of the past successes of Trinity and X. For that, I give a big shout out to the Rocks and Tigers and all the Ky teams that have improved the quality of play. It seems like Ky football is finally getting some respect nationally.
Come on, Chaz. People see right through you. Every high for these kids doesn't have to be explained with such eloquence and plain ole BS. Enjoy the ranking for what it's worth; absolutely nothing and quit trying to explain away the reasons why accolades come Highlands' way.
