R.U.S.E. is an upcoming 2010 real-time strategy [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game"]video game[/ame] developed by [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugen_Systems"]Eugen Systems[/ame] and published by [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubisoft"]Ubisoft[/ame]. R.U.S.E. was initially scheduled to be released at some point towards the end of 2009, but it is now expected to be released Q1 2010 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It is a strategy game involving the players to use decoys and ruses to trick their enemies into traps. Due to the complicated nature of the game, it was feared it may drive away casual gamers, something which Ubisoft claim to have addressed. [1] There are six factions in the game, including the British and Germans.

[edit] Scenario
R.U.S.E. takes place within the World War II time period. It is believed that players will be playing as the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States"]United States[/ame]. The campaign takes place in several major theaters of World War II. Battles in the game take place in North Africa, Italy, France, Holland, the Ardennes, and Germany.
[edit] Characters
The campaign takes place from the point of view of Major Joseph Sheridan of the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Army"]United States Army[/ame] [1]. A Yale dropout, Joe Sheridan later joined the US Army and then assumed control of the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Armored_Division"]First Armored Division[/ame].
[edit] Factions
Although the player can only play as the United States in the campaign mode, other factions are present in the game and can be played on R.U.S.E. online. Other factions include the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom"]United Kingdom[/ame], Germany, Italy, France, and the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_Union"]Soviet Union[/ame][2].
[edit] Ruses
R.U.S.E. employs a system of ruses which allow the player to fool or bluff the opponent. A total of ten ruses will be able to be used in the game. The ruses are divided into three different categories: those which reveal information (such as decryption), those which withhold information (such as radio silence), and an unknown category which is yet to be revealed [3].
[edit] Decryption
The decryption ability reveals all enemies' units within a sector. All order are represented by red arrows.
[edit] Spy
A spy reveals all unknown enemy units in a sector.
[edit] Radio Silence
Radio silence hides all ally units within a sector.
[edit] Decoy Offensive
The decoy offensive allows the player to create five decoy units which allow the player to simulate an army.
[edit] Camouflage Net
The camouflage net hides all allies' buildings within a sector. All allies' buildings in that sector disappear from the enemy intelligence system.
