Lest we also forget that just across the state line we have those exciting and prosperous communities such as Fort Gay, Kermit, and Matewan that have pumped all that alcohol revenue back into their communities as well. What could we in Johnson County have possibly been thinking about all these years?

You can't compare Paintsville to the rest of those towns. Site selection depends on more than just alcohol sales. Population and location is the biggest two. I know Prestonsburg would have a couple of better resturaunts if it was between Pikeville and Paintsville. Paintsville has a better location and can draw from more people. Plus with it on the verge of going wet a couple businesses came down and opted not to build in Prestonsburg to wait and see what happens in Prestonsburg. The bad thing is with the economy Paintsville might have missed out on the oppertunity.
