And also the way Eddie James was screwed out of the job that he was recommended for.

The current hiring committee is the screwing over committee.

Why would Coach McNamee want to take a step back by going to Corbin?

No, no, no, no and no.  You are wrong on all accounts.  I guarantee Corbin doesn't have more money backing the program than Pikeville.  Corbin doesn't have more consistency, and they don't have better tradition.  You are apparently have no knowledge at all about Pikeville or their football program.  Pikeville has won 7 state championships since Corbin last won one.
42 years is along time to wait in my opinion. However, we must compare apples to apples. And not apples to oranges. Pikeville winning 1A State Championships is far easier done than Pikeville winning 7 State Championships in 4A or 3A. I’ll agree Pikeville is very well coached and has a rich history in Kentucky High School Football. In my opinion Pikeville should at the very least be playing in Class 3A Football. Pikeville is consistently better than most 1A, 2A, and 3A teams so why not move up and prove to the state you can Win in the higher classes. If Corbin was playing in Class 1A they would win State Championship every year and that’s for real… I really like Pikevilles coach tho as he makes more adjustments than most I’ve watched..
Back when Beechwood was 1A, they would have challenged Corbin but , yeah, the Hounds would simply crush 1A.

McPeek is the guy to go in after. By far best available and considering what he’s been able to accomplish for an extended period in Lexington I would imagine he could put The Redhounds over the top. Everyone see the athletes at FD, but getting those athletes to consistently show up and work their tails off is no easy task. Put him in a “football town”… could be dangerous for The Rebels.

With that being said… they are going to have to come with a bag to compete with the fayette county teaching pay which I’m sure wouldn’t be an issue for Corbin boosters.

This will be fun to see how it unfolds in the next few weeks. Can’t imagine they will take too long to announce their hire.
I've said it for months now, MCPEEK is the guy that should be the focus of the Corbin search. Give him what he wants and bring him to town to stay!!!

Wasn't the Corbin-Pikeville game in 2022 a 5 point game? At Corbin? I don't know that Corbin would regularly "crush" Pikeville.
