Per the KHSAA article, both teams are rejoining. My statement was referring to the possibility of getting halfway through the season then one or both having to forfeit the remainder of the season due to not having enough players left to participate.
That's the district they are assigned to, I haven't seen anything that says they will compete in the district. Would not be in the best interest of either program to put it mildly. One would think they have to realize it.
If I was a Pikeville fan I’d hope they weren’t in the district. That would take up 2 games that will be running clocks first quarter that neither team benefits from playing
Dropping Ironton and Corbin and picking up Jenkins and Phelps would stink. Would be pretty much that scenario every year.
