Retired Oldham County/Jeffersontown head coach Mike Shatzer put together a mock Realignment.




2023-2026 Mock District Realignment


*** All placements were done with no schools opting to "play up" (except for Christian County)


*** I tried to keep travel at a minimum where possible (Kentucky is a long state)


*** I kept it at 8 districts per level, for ease of playoff match ups


*** There is one district in 5A with 6 teams due to size of area covered


*** I have no connection to the KHSAA, I'm just an old retired ball coach.


*** This is all purely speculative, nothing will be official until after the Christmas Holidays

I think that guy took a pretty good stab at the 23-26 realignment.

Whitley County to Johnson Central is 140 miles and 2 hours and 40 minutes to drive (and vice versa). Harlan County to Southwestern is a 2 hours 20 minutes drive (and vice versa). Couple of tough drives for some mountain teams.
