District 2

Owensboro Catholic
The Aces would appear to be in a great position to repeat as the district champs this year when you look at the numbers. They only lose 14 out of a roster of 64. But when you start looking at what players they lost, you can see how this district will tighten up this year. They lose the big time LB Boarman. They lose a 1300 yard rusher in Gardner. They lose a 1,000 yard reciever and great return specialist in Morton. They also lose the top qb in 2a for the state last year Zuberer with over 3,500 yards. I understand they have a sophomore qb they feel can fill Zuberer's shoes though. I really expect this district to tighten between the Aces and Butler County this year. I do expect the Aces to win the district though and again come in as Regional runners up.

Butler County
I expect this team to be in the top 10 this year and really push the Aces for the district title. They lose their receiving Corp but return King Rex (Henderson) to the role of qb/safety. This kid was near the top of the state in 2a last year. If they can find him some recievers, he will top that list this year. I think they will be able to find the right players for those roles when you consider this senior group was the state champs as 8th graders. They finished 9-3 last year and could improve on that this year.

McClean County
McClean should remain in this role this year. They went 5-6 last year and I look for them to duplicate this record this year. They lost 9 seniors from a squad of 46.

Todd County Central
This squad has been showing signs of improvement recently. They however were hit hard by graduation losing 12 from a squad of 42. If memory serves me correctly, they lost most of their skill though. I expect them to continue their role this year and to struggle a little more than last year.
