In most successful programs, the high school coach has some control over the teams that feed the high school including elementary school teams. If you look at the Ashland high school team from the last few years, it is obvious that the only fundamentally sound kids are the "transfers" to Ashland from other schools- mainly Rose Hill. Say what you will about "methods" and alleged "clandestine activities" but the Rose Hill kids were taught and knew fundamentals. They routinely beat Ashland's middle school teams by 30, 40, or more points. But, those days are over so Ashland must develop its own players and it isn't working so far.
