Wow!!!! I am going to go wit hazard by 5 . The Whitaker kid knows south laurel and so does his dad so they should be ready to play thursday.

It appears this will be a real barn burner. Hazard (30-4) and South Laurel (27-7) have only played two common opponents--Clay County and Breathitt County, and both Haz and SL won these games. There is no doubt that SL has a fine team, but Hazard is also road tested. I believe the fact Coach Whitaker and his son, Josh, are both very familiar with this team, will be in our favor. Also, Hazard's defense has improved as the season has gone along and our bench is very deep (at least 10 deep without losing much quality). For these reason, I have to give Hazard the edge by 5 points!

Its going to be hard to stop the Cardinals because they've really turned it on here lately and they know what its like to be playing at Rupp, not saying that Hazard doesn't but the Dawgs have some new players and a new coach so they haven't been this far before and I think that the jitters will get them. Gonna take South Laurel by 10...

Hazard could actually make it kinda far in the Tourny this year. If they win this game they would play either Shelby or Lincoln County, I know they could beat either of those teams.

I hate seein two mountain teams play eachother in the first round. This one is a hard call. Everybody counted SL out at the beginnin of the year after losin the boys to graduation, but you can never count Steve Wright out, he is a **** of a coach.

I'm gonna go with Hazard by 5.
