Who is the best D1 propects in the mountains? Crawford-Corbin? Stepp-JBS?
#2
stepp-jbs
slone- paintsville
#3
Well I know of 2 that will be in about two years, but as of now, Stepp and Slone are the top two Seniors in the mountains.
#4
Not sure of his current height, but if Justice from SV can grow a little. I think he would have to get some looks!!! MAybe not major D-1 but smaller def...
#5
Landon Slone is by far the top D-1 prospect in the Mountains.
#6
Tim & Ted Honaker

Daniel Harmon

Are d-1 basketball prospects? LOL. Some people doubt Landon being D-1...these 3 boys you mentioned definitely aint. Daniel doesn't have the heart to play D-1 basketball, he almost didn't even play basketball last year.

What about Johnson from Cumberland?

What D-1 school would be looking at Slone?
I don't think there is a D-1 player in the 15th region this year.

Miss. State.

Newman from BL may get some looks from smaller D1 schools IMO....He has the best D1 caliber body in the 15th, but it depends on how his shot developed....JMO

Slone is the only one I could see playing from the Mts, But If Stepp could play D-1 then I would say Hurt could too because he can shoot better, stronger, and all around a good player but I rlly dont see either going D-1..I would love to see them tho...Good Luck Guys !!!!

Slone will play at a D-1 mid-major school. Next season look for the Adams kid from Pikeville to do the same.

Adams might go cause of his height, but def. not because of his skills. He's not a force down low, Ashley Hatfield was out rebounding him all season head to head, Adams has the size, but he needs better technique.

Slone's options to date:
Memphis
Miss State
Arkansas
Austin Peay
Western Kentucky

I know for a fact that John Pelphrey isn't looking at Slone. In fact he can't play in the SEC period. I think maybe your information is coming from someone who has been misinformed or wishfull thinking.

I personally do not think that Stepp will go to a D1 school. He is a good player for the age group he is playing in right now and he is a little older than the boys he is playing against. He is too selfish when he is playing. He needs alot of discipline and needs to pass the ball. He could be a really good player for a D1 school if he would just learn that he is not the only player on the court, and when you are taught that you are the one carring the team all these years, I don't think any coach D1 or any other can correct that.
#19
I think Stepp would be a great NAIA player but not D-1 doesnt really have body to play with D-1 players espeically in the SEC and really the same for Slone, Both players would be great NAIA players and alot more players from the 14th and 15th region but I rlly dont see anyone going D-1.But Anything is possible!

Adams might not have had the skills as a sophomore but he will have after two more years. I have heard that Pikeville hired a strength and conditioning coach, if this is true, this might be what Adams needed. SV might have stopped him last year but he will dominate them down low from now on!!

Well, in case you don't know, just as Adams was improving, so was Ashley Hatfield and Taylor Newsome, so don't make it look like Adams will dominate, he didn't last year, and Ashley will only be a sophomore, so look out Pikeville, you can deal with Ashley for 3 more years.

Ashley might be a sophomore this year, but him and Deven are the same age. The biggest difference is Deven played up where as the SV boys played down. Deven has been playing against better players than anyone at Shelby Valley has over the off season and during the summer.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

If Pikeville doesn't beat Valley this year, none of that matters.

This has what to do with playing at any D-1 level?

I know most on here are 14th region fans, but if you get a chance, watch Crawford/Corbin, Brumback/Jackson County and Johnson/Cumberland from the 13th. I have not seen many 14th region players, but I would like to hear what you guys think about these guys D1 chances.

I do know for a fact that Memphis has been heavily after Landon since his sophmore year. Also, Austin Peay, Western Ky, Valpo, Marshall, Mississippi State, and others have been after him. Slone IMO is the best Senior in the Mountains. I see Slone going D-1, and as for Stepp, I've only got to see him once or twice, and was impressed both times. I see him going D-2 or maybe small D-1.

No way Landon Slone is a major D1 player. He's D2 at best. I think next year you will see him playing either D2 or NAIA. If you want me to believe that Memphis is interested in him you're crazy. NO WAY!
