Trust me when I say, It is not a matter of whether DJ wants to coach or not, it is up to McKenzie to decide whether or not he wants him too. At this point, I don't think McKenzie has said that. Also, Craig Ratliff is not even an issue. How did he get into the mix? I say, McKenzie chooses some good assistants based on people he can trust. Administration has had nothing to do with telling him who he has to take. He doesn't have to take anyone he doesn't want. I know Coach McKenzie and his wife really well and talk to them often. JCHS administration has more confidence in McKenzie than you know!

When I say this, I'm not defending Eaglehoops because I, too, don't think he knows as much as he thinks he does. However, I also know that in the past some assistants HAVE been chosen for the head coaches. In other words, the head coach has been told that a certain person or people, in some cases, will be his/her assistant(s). Now, in Tommy's case, I have no idea. But to say that the administration has no say in what a coach does is not entirely true.

I never said anything about the adm. choosing the asst. coaches. I said Danny Johnson has been asked to help coach by coach McKenzie. However, he hasn't made up his mind. This comes directly from Tommy McKenzie, who I know very well thank you. Maybe some don't believe what I write on here but that really doesn' t bother me because the info I get comes straight from the horses mouth!

As you can see you didn't say that DJ had been asked. You said you talked to DJ. Then you turn around and say you talked to Tommy. This is why people give you so much heck on here. So which is it? Did you talk to DJ or TM? The suspense is killing us. Like everyone else said "couldn't resist" lol You left yourself out there on that one.

Allright, Allright!
I heard from someone who heard from someone else at the barber shop, that the janitor's uncle told him about this one. Here's your assistants:
David Couch
Harry Meek
Alvin Ratliff
Jimmy Daniels
Roger and Avery Fairchild

Is that the same Roger Fairchild that was a ref last season? If so, is he going to give it up to be a coach?

no I talked to Roger this morning and him and big Avery are going to help coach. Also spoke to Tim Adams and he is going to be the freshman coach, and Mike Castle is going to help coach the boys and girls. and Thom Cochran is going to be the new cheerleading coach. Also Shawn Hall is going to coaching soccer and swimming. Mike Hall is going to coach the competitive eating squad, and Danny Johnson will be the new billards coach.

Out of our "Top 6" that year:
Matt Ratliff
Craig Ratliff
Josh McKenzie
Todd Tackett
Myself
Mike Short
I know that from as far as I can remember Josh, Mike, and I were always at Paintsville, Todd Tackett came to Paintsville as a 5th Grader, Matt was two years ahead of me and I am not sure how long he went to Paintsville, Craig Ratliff came to Paintsville as a Freshman I believe. Hope this helps!!

I'd like to see Jimmy get into coaching. It would be awesome if he could help Tommy. Jimmy not only knows basketball but he's a class act you can never have too many of those people helping you out.
