Who will be better Next Year--Shelby Valley or JBS
#1
If the teams stay the way they are and noone transfers who do you think will be better??
#2
Kinda hard to compare two teams from different regions. I think they would match up pretty good against each other.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

I thought the topic was going to say SV or paintsville instead of JBS. The answer to your question is simple, Shelby Valley.
#4
Yeah Valley of course.
#5
Valley..easy
#6
I would like to see the two play ,would be interesting! I for one think it would be close.

I agree! JBS was better than SV last year and if all players stay, why wouldn't they still be better?
#10
SV will have a very good team next year but I think JBS is much better because of the huge size advantage of Collins and Short and the guardplay of Stepp and Cox. This JBS team could be one of the better teams to come out of the mountains in a long time. These two could possibly meet in the All A if they make it or at Rupp if they make it. Good luck to both teams...

If the players stay then JBS.

Shelby Valley

JBS easily, Valley won a regional championship last year in the weakest region in the state and then went down to Rupp and looked horrible. I know all these kids from Valley have had a lot of hype but they have yet to do anything that really makes them stad apart from the rest of the region. I wouldnt be surprised this year if they fail to win the region, Paintsville is going to be solid and Valley doesnt have a single player the caliber of Landon Slone.

Im just sick of getting on here and listening to everyone talk about how great Shelby Valley is, and hell its not just basketball, their football fans even talk smack and god knows they have no room to be talking smack. If you going to talk the talk then walk the walk.

Are you kidding? What haven't these kids done to live up to the hype? They won the region and went undefeated in it as well. I think that sets them a part somewhat from the rest of the 15th. Smile

Paintsville was supposed to be solid the last 3 seasons and we all see how far that got them.

Don't know where you've been hibernating, but Elisha Justice is only a Sophomore and is twice the player Landon was as a freshmen, did Landon win 15th region mvp as a freshmen? or start on a regional runner up team as an 8th grader? I'm really not sure but Elisha did both.

Well, I've got news for you. Just because Justice was a part of that, doesn't make him a better player than Slone. Slone is twice the player of this kid when he was a freshman. Justice is too small and will never be a college prospect. Slone will play college ball, at what level is unknown. I'm not impressed with Justice's shooting ability, he handles the ball well, but that's about it.

No but He did put up 51pts against SV and just about knocked them off as a freshman, the year valley was senior dominated and won the region.

Have to disagree, I would put Justice in the top 5 in the region but he's not nearly the player Landon was as a freshman. He has the potential to be great and could quiet possibly be the best PG to come out of the region since Jermey Hall at Allen Central who later became the big 10 freshman of the year at Wisconsin. This is only my opinion and I absolutly love Elisha's game and composure but I just don't think he was as good as Slone at the same age, I just don't see it.

I agree with everything, but have to respectfully disagree with the highlighted part. Justice will make a great PG in college. He'll grow, mature, and with the handles and composure at such a young age he has to be considered a prospect and could possibly develop into a possible DI prospect. I'm saying this because he been active in AAU for many years, he's getting his name out there and you can see the potential in him to be very good. Alot of college coaches see a kid in the summer. Also if Valley gets to rupp like they are favored the next few years and he goes down there and has some solid games he will get alot of peoples attention. But again this is just my opinion.

We've heard the argument about Elisha forever that he will not be big enough. They said it about his brother as well, but Jonah has turned out to be around 6'0'' and he is a man. Just give Elisha another year or two and the size will come. He already has the strength. He does much more than just handle the ball well. He was MVP of the Cumberland Falls Invitational and the 15th Region Tournament and he did it on a good team. I don't know how good he'll end up being, but I wouldn't hesitate to say he'll be one of the best if not the best point guard in this region in a long time.

I was at that game and Slone was the best player on the floor. He had no help that year and Valley could not stop him.

Elisha plays AMAZING defense as well, in that game against Belfry this year, he made Jamie Case look horrible, picking his pocket again and again. He'll get a lot bigger, he's got 3 more years to grow, you can't say someone won't grow because as a Freshmen they are like 5'8, most college point guards are 5'10-6'1, so don't try telling me or Elisha he is too small, his brother was small his freshmen year and now I don't think anyone in our region could pick on Jonah, so say what you want, Elisha will be the 2nd best, if not the best point guard from the 15th region all time.
#25
That is hilarious...he is good but he won't be in the top 5 all time point guards in the 15th...hahaha

Hey man give me some of that stuff you are smoking, it must be great stuff.
#27
Of Course he is going to think Elisha Justice will be the greatest PG of all time in the 15th, Valley fans think that everyone of their players are going to the NBA!!
#28
it's just an opinion, and everyone's got one, just you don't put yours to good use, you use yours to make others feel bad.
#29
I think until Shelby Valley at least loses another 15th region game no rival or any other team fan from the 15th has any room to talk trash. Period.
As for who's better between SV and JBS I don't know. Hopefully the two can meet up sometime to see.

I thought I saw the other day that JBS was looking for an opponent but they wanted to play at JBS. These are two pretty good teams and if Valley had room on their schedule maybe something could be worked out between the schools. A neutral site might be something to look at.
