Belfry looks much improved. I am not surprised. Those really good freshman and sophomores last year are a year older. People acted like Belfry had half their team transfer when in reality it was 3 players. Defense looks really good against the run defensively.

This Belfry team looks better than the 2021 team who won the ship. This team
Has 3-4 legit backs and has proved they can throw the football. Defense is better than I expected to see game 1.

I knew Belfry was underrated going into the season. It was laughable WYMT had Shelby Valley ranked above Belfry. That matchup would not be pretty for Valley. The Pirates are loaded with a lot of young talent also.

I was also surprised WYMT had Breathitt County #5, 4 spots ahead of Belfry, after I saw Pikeville completely control their scrimmage against Breathitt County in Jackson.

I would agree.  Breathitt has passed some on Belfry….but really struggle in the red zone.   Belfry has dominated this game from the onset.  However….Belfey has a long way to go.  No pressure up front….and secondary has done too much ball watching.    That being said….we’re one s ore away from a running clock.

Dougie…I think there is some truth to that.  However….to this point ….Belfry has looked aggressive, confident and has escaped the fumbles.   Those are all positives.

Belfry has a good team but let’s slow down and be honest. Breathitt is not good. Belfry has some quality opponents coming up. Breathitt has long road ahead of them. Belfry flat out out played them. This was a good game to help with confidence but not a real test for them but JC, Pikeville and Southwestern will be.
