The Daltrey one is the GOAT in most folks minds. And I’m so glad you mentioned the Motor City Madman, my first guitar hero. ‘Double Live Gonzo’ is sneakily one of the best live rock albums of all time.
Here’s a couple more that deserve mention.
The first one is probably the second most famous in all of rock, John letting it out at the very start of the song. I included Helter Skelter because it’s the Beatles actually rocking out. And finally how can there be a list like this without the great Robert Plant on there somewhere?

I wanted to revisit this thread again, because something had been nagging me about my pick as the most iconic scream in rock history. It finally hit me last night. For me, it’s this one. It hits at the 3:50 mark on this version.

For me, Joe Cocker is an artist who definitely belongs on the underrated thread. His bluesy voice and funky arrangements were, I thought, just outstanding.
