Western Hills New Coach Hired.

Western Hills hires Simon Vanderpool from North Laurel as there new head coach. He was there defensive coordinator. I really like this coach. I am a defensive mided guy and I think he will not be easily replaced. I wish him nothing but the best. Great guy!!

Wonder if Chappell with promote from within or hire someone outside the program. The DC at North Laurel job should be a well sought after job.

This past season I went to watch the Boyle scrimmage and the Johnson Central game at North Laurel and the one thing that jumped out to me immediately was the defense. The first question I asked was who is the defensive coach. I was really impressed. I hope some North Laurel fans start getting on here and posting because they should be in for one of there best years as a program as they bring back the majority of there team. I was wondering the same thing about the next defensive coordinator that is hired.

Tough road ahead. I would say this is a win for them as far as a hire.

I’ve heard very good things about this coach. Wish Corbin had a defensive Coordinator like this guy..

I think a few are from Great Crossing, where he coached for a few years before going to North Laurel.

I have heard nothing but great things about this coach. Hopefully another Wan'Dale comes along the Western Hill path and then moves on up to UK.

There aren’t any Wandales wandering around Frankfort, I can assure you that. There are some very talented players out there though. Flyers and Panthers have an inside track as of now due to their youth programs, but don’t be surprised to see WH more competitive in a few years. It will be a slow build though. This staff will need time to get kids in and develop them.

I highly doubt it. I talked to Coach Chappell the other day and he was excited for this upcoming season. I like Coach Chappell as he is just a good dude! Kids like playing for him so I don’t see any leaving, I do see kid’s interested in going to North now because of Chappell.

First off if it’s the kids I hear… they are not wandale…. Talented kids though. Eligibility will be interesting.
