Raceland heading to Kroger field with a date with PIKEVILLE

Holy Cross has decent team speed and a good duel threat QB. They also play fast and physical on defense. They remind me of the Russellville team from last season. Raceland better show up to play because this team has the athletes to beat us. That being said, these boys have had the goal of making it to state written down since last Nov and I don’t see them being denied. I look for this to be a good hard hitting game.

Raceland bounces back from a sluggish, all be it gutsy, performance against Hazard. Having not been in a dogfight in awhile, I liked the grit we showed to close the game out. I think that carries over i to this game. I dont think HC has rhe horses upfront.

Rams 28
HC 14

I think Scotty hit the nail on the head. The Ram front 7 will dominate the offensive line of Holy Cross and that will be the game.

I went back and watched the game from  last night again and I don’t think it was so much us playing bad or being sluggish than Hazard playing good.  Hazard had a good game plan and did exactly what they needed to do against us and that was keep our offense off the field and keep the field short all night.  I don’t think we were prepared for a decent team after playing weak teams for the past few weeks and Hazard gave us a punch in the mouth I think we needed to take.

As for this game, last night was a good game to prepare us for the deeper rounds of the playoffs and we showed that we can respond when things don’t go our way. HC looks like they have a pretty good team with some nice athletes and I look for it to be a battle next week.

Raceland got their scare against Hazard I think they play much better this week

#6 for Holy Cross is very enjoyable to watch. Raceland should be too much for them in the long run.

After last week's eye opener for the Rams, they'll be ready to play and make a point in this one.

Rams- 42
HC- 7

If this game is within 2-3 scores, my confidence will only grow that the Rams will receive a spanking from a certain Pike County team and the clock will run continuously.

I don’t think Holy Cross has enough for the upset.

Raceland 31

Im honetly reconsidering my score prediction for this game. There has been a trend for this Raceland team this year. If they play poorly or not up to what everyone feels is the expectation one week, they have responded with drastic improvements the next. The win vs Rowan wasnt as pretty as the 40-3 score indicated. They followed that up with pushing Highlands to the brink. They didnt play exactly lights out against Paintsville, but followed that up with a thumping on Lawrence County. I look for the Rams to come out blazing this weekend, tbh. Changing my score prediction.

They might have played poorly but they did win but give Hazard some credit they have a good team and except for some mistakes might have been a different outcome and then RAMDAD50 would be blasting the coaching staff but he does it anyway so it really don’t matter. I remember 2020 I definitely said Hazard came to Pikeville and punched them in the mouth and wanted it more than Pikeville and the coaching staff can’t get out there and play for them and yes I have questions about some play calling at times but again I have never won a championship not alone 6 but I believe that is human nature so good luck to Raceland this weekend and hope to see you guys in Lexington if Pikeville win’s Friday night but as always GO PANTHERS!!!

Tyler Ballard is a fun player to watch for HC but I don't think HC has enough gas in the tank to win a game like this. Give me Raceland by 21.

In retrospect, I feel like we overlook or not think about, the things that go i to preparing thses young men. Coaches have to create a plan and then install it. All the while keeping the boys focused and ignoring the hype of how good they are or should be. The staff does the best they can to put a plan in place to be successful. Its easy for us to set and knit pick that plan after the fact. Im sure they do the same thing after watching film. I for one, am guilty of it for sure. But at the end of the day, no coach is doing anything other than their best.

I believe this will be a very good game. Rams better bring their A game and even then idk if it will be enough.

HC has done good athletes and I think this should be a tough game.  I think the Rams should win by a couple of scores but at this point in the season you can’t take anything for granted.

Holy Cross struggles against physicality. Rams win big. Wont even be close.

As we get closer to game day I am inclined to think the same.  This team has been on a mission to make it to Kroger since last winter and I think we will see a very focused Raceland team.  For Holy Cross to have a shot they have to steal the Hazard game plan and keep the Raceland offense off the field and throw the rhythm off of the Raceland offense but I don’t think they have the players to do that.  That being said, I look for the first half to be somewhat close due to adrenaline and the Rams pulling away in the 2nd half to win by 3-4 scores.

I agree, nothing like a reality check to get you re-focused. Holy Cross shows up and plays hard but in the end Raceland rolls in a convincing manner.

Dont get it twisted though, Perry and Ballard are good playmakers. Perry can hurt you with his arm, but can really do damage with his legs if the pocket breaks down. He isnt as quick, but reminds me alot of the Whitt kid that played QB at LCA a good while back. Ballard runs hard down hill. The difference is in the trenches and on the sidelines. We dress as many upper classmen as HC dresses on their whole team. I look for that to wear them down. They also arent the most physical team and this is a game that I can see Wallace going off in. Lundy will have a big night as well by air and on the ground.

I think it will play out a lot like the Paintsville game with HC playing hard but getting overwhelmed by our depth late in the game.

A win this week would also be a new school record for wins (13) in a single season.

I think this Holy Cross team hasn’t seen the physicality like they will see Friday night and this will probably be the only running clock game in the semifinals this year unless it’s Corbin and I believe they could put a running clock game on Franklin County. Holy Cross has a good team but Hazard was way better than they are now we will see Friday night

Amazing turnout today for the community breakfast. Hope everyone had a great day of thanks shared with family and friends.
