Congratulations Harlan County!

Congratulations Black Bears!!!

Jordan kid has one speed; flat out!! I coached his mom in basketball several years ago. He got his speed from her.

Knox getting exposed, if you stop the run you stopped knox. Very one dimensional with average defense. Not having Chadwell hurt but I'm not sure he would have made up a 30 point difference. Harlan just wanted this game more.
#5
Looks as if they wanted it alot more. Congrats Black Bears
#6
Damn ..surprising score to me

The MVP of the game for Harlan County "The Jordan Kid" I am hearing was hurt last year in the Hazard game and hasn't played since...Last night was his first game back and he was the difference. Not only a offensive domination but a defensive presence as well....
#8
It wasn't last year, it was two games ago against Hazard. Two of HC's players had to leave that game. Jordan did play some against Whitley County. He scored the only touchdown, but did not play very long at all.

Congratulations Harlan County!

He had 15 carries for 27 yards against my Colonels. They must have some weapons too Smile

Knox Central is not one dimensional. They have a very good quarterback.

Partin is not a QB he is an exceptional football player though.

Knox needs to develop a quarterback and let Partin do what he is great at, being a running back. Partin has played very well at QB, but he needs to be a RB.

Ok…. Either I’m just missing something, or this game has just confused me something awful. So someone explain to me dummy terms.

Are the results of these two teams this year based on injuries? Or….

Is KC horrible?

You had a HC team that lost to Whitley by 3 scores. Then turns around and lays it to KC. Then you have a KC team beat bell, but then get slaughtered by Harlan? So either, bell/KC aren’t good at all, Harlan being a step above them, and Whitley on top?

I just remembered reading that KC would give the hounds an interesting match but after this result, and KC’s opponents opponents result, It would lead one to
Think something completely opposite. I don’t follow these teams close enough to look at an injury status, HC vs WC might have made some difference, it being a 20 point game, but his one, nope.

God love it!  Let Granny explain:

Two of our best players went out early in Hazard game.  Injuries that they could not return to that game.  The more Hazard scored, the lower our confidence fell.  Then Whitley County played, and only one of those players played; and not for very long.  It was a game of two halves, and the second half, we just didn't show up.

Now everyone, including me, expected Knox Central to do better than they did.  It is my understanding that KC had three starters out.  I'm not sure why; probably injuries.  I THINK that they're expectations were very high and they may have even looked past HC.  But HC was hungry and wound up.  We scored early, and I was told that KC was knocked back on their heels a little.  The second score by HC took it's toll on the team confidence, too.  KC could just never recover enough to win the game.

Now I wasn't there.  That assessment is from a good friend of mine that does the radio commentary.

All the teams you named are a little better than you think.

Not been able to get on here and comment, but thomas jordan and jonah swanner are two of the best athletes in the 13th region. Both go out in the first quarter of hazard. They both play safety and carry the load on offense. They both looked 100 percent last night in person and the supporting cast looked phenomenal. Now another thing is knox was missing chadwell and their starting back. But they don’t make a 27 point difference. Knox was very one dimensional and harlan county is just bigger and stronger in the trenches. That’s the biggest thing that stood out to me, knox central was whipped up front. That pretty much sealed the deal in my eyes that the red hounds will sail in the district. They couldn’t block anyone on the inside all night even with double teams and couldn’t block HCs Defensive end in pass rush to save their lives. On defense they were getting drove 10 yards downfield. Now seeing harlan county at full strength surprised a lot of people, hopefully they can stay healthy and compete in some of their district games.
