Courier Journal Offensive All State Players
#31
Every year it seems like it’s all political. Not saying a lot of those kids didn’t deserve it but it seems like a lot of kids got shafted. What needs to happen if it’s gonna be like this is just make an all state team from each class that way each kid that deserves the honor should get it
#32
Chase Mims from Betsy Layne also not even receiving a honorable mention being as high in the charts as he is for passing is crazy.
If you need any assistance or want to report a problem feel free to PM me and we will get it taken care of!  Thank you for choosing to be apart of the BGR community!

Gillis as honorable mention is laughable, should be higher, as well as other kids that I don’t believe should be on this list. I won’t speak out against any specific kids but I got to watch a lot of them in person and know other kids are better and have better stats.

look at threes stats in front of him since you mentioned stats .. everyone is quick to hate on these teams but no one wants to put out their own teams

Looking at stats I don’t see three that are clearly better statically, that’s why I enjoy watching them live. Which I have all four. I didn’t include names on the stats to show there isn’t three clearly better.

All four are incredible players, just voicing my opinion on the order

1 way more tds and yards

3 second most scores impressive yards

4 3500 yards 51 tds

2 3700 yards and 45 tds

one and two much better stats wise .. three and four are close but give me scores over yards

im not the one wanting to rank by stats though schedule playoffs end of year all has factors
QB 2 is Gillis, so I’m just saying it isn’t absurd to say he should be higher than honorable mention. I’m not saying doing it off stats alone, but with the schedule they played in the regular season along with the stats put him in top three for me.

if you are a boyle homer just say so .. sivori played the best schedule in the entire state and beat the number one team .. hergott and humphreys put up video game numbers

I’m actually not a Boyle homer, but to say I’m a homer because I think Gillis is top three shows me all I need to know. Shalom ?

What do you mean by participation trophy. It seems as though several people who were honorable mention deserved to be higher and several who made it got it because who they played for or where their going to college. Last time I checked you had to earn on the field and just because you got it last yr doesn’t mean they automatically make it this yr. There’s several people who had better yrs than the ones who made it. So your telling me that Russellville made it to the finals only with one loss and almost won the state championship and only had one player make it. That team as well as others earned it and deserved more players on this list
#38
they need to make every player in the state on the team that’s only fair so no one gets left off .. we had three that should have made it and didn’t so should we cry about how it’s rigged or tell them work harder .. the younger generation didn’t change we have made them soft and entitled .. if you didn’t make it work harder and come back and make it next year

The numbers don't mean a whole lot in this instance. Anyone with eyes could see that Gillis is a top 3 QB in Kentucky.

I agree but
Herggot-QB -BEECHWOOD SHOULD BE 1ST TEAM
BIRCHFIELD-RB-PIKEVILLE SHOULD BE 2ND TEAM.

Lots of good ones not on this list that could have been on it. Congratulations to all those who made it no matter where they put you. I enjoyed watching the games this year! Especially the last 3 rounds of the playoffs. We have some good talent on a bunch of teams.

I want to congratulate Logan Mccoy from Belfry on his honorable mention. Kid missed first 4 games rehabbing a torn ACL in his left knee then durning 2nd week of playoffs tears his ACL in his right knee and then just three weeks later plays all 61 offensive snaps in the championship game opening those wholes for Dixion to run through. One tuff kid!

I can remember the C-J used to compile all-state teams for each class back in the mid/late-70s, but of course only 3-4 classes then.
