It was good to see Russell in a conventional set. I think passing out of conventional sets will help offense. The kids played hard and gave it everything they had which is always something that should be acknowledged. Russellâs line looked sluggish coming off the ball, Burg was athletic, better overall team speed. The recipe for the Devils success will be find passing attack out of conventional sets. The defense looked better Garyâs 3-4 a modified version of a conventional 5-2 suits Russell better than a 4-3. Final score wasnât pretty but the kids showed guts and heart, along with signs of better execution at times on offense.

Devils have long way to go but proof is in the pudding other than one isolated blown coverage by Burg, Devils looked better in conventional sets. It doesnât have to be wing t wishbone straight t specifically, just something simple conventional with a tight end or two.

I believe technically it would be considered an unconventional set, wouldn't it?
