Serious question.... I've heard the Kentucky Sports Radio crew talk about the magical and life changing cheeseburgers at the Monticello pool hall.

Where is this place located at and are the burgers really that good?

Pool hall is located in the heart of downtown on the square. I haven't had them in awhile but they were that good in 1993.

When you go into Monticello on HWY 90 take a left at the first stoplight. Stay on business 90 until you see the doughboy at town square and the pool hall will be on the left.

The way the cards have been playing, I believe they mix some mashed taters in the burgers.

For years and years.... JC probably had the closest field to a Kroger store in the United States. That particular side of the field is still referred to as "The Kroger side".

All those years playing beside a Kroger and now the goal is to get to Kroger.

Yes, I know GoogleMaps has the building labeled as 'Dollar Tree'. That is accurate as of today. The Kroger went out of business in the early 00's.

You can see how close JC's field is to what was a Kroger's. Several people use the area in between the building and the field to tailgate.

Another little factoid....

Wayne County, Sheldon Clark, Perry County Central, McCreary Central, Prestonsburg, Whitley County, Oneida Baptist & Johnson Central used to be in the same Wrestling district.
In 2002, when the KHSAA re-aligned the teams and eliminated the district tournament, JC & Wayne County stayed in the same region. Since 2014, Wayne County has been in Region 7 and JC in Region 8.

JC & Wayne County have a deep rivalry on the wrestling mats as well.

JC beat Capital, WV. 31-20 in the first game of the season.
But Wayne isnt Capital, WV

I love this post joking or not. 15 years ago Wayne County was the team you invited to homecoming. Today we are in the semi-state for the 4th time in 5 years, and district rivals wish we were somewhere else.

Hard not to be proud of this program, coaches, players, and fans! Confusedinglepar

Great news for Johnson Central!! Looking at the results after your JC/Scott and your JC/ASH-land prediction, (both ended up being JC blowouts), I think I might just keep my thoughts to myself. Why your liable to make folks start to thinking that you don't have a clue.

Hack much?

I hardly give any sort of care what anyone thinks regarding a meaningless football game. It's really such a small thing that only a fraction of a percent of people actually pay attention to and care about. Please bring your thoughts to the forefront. I would love to read them through this computer screen. Or just look me up face to face, I prefer method #2 Smile

Meaningless? yep, with your schedule so booked up with important things you no doubt just really really felt that you JUST HAD to hack your disdain for good ole' JCHS....Confusednicker:

Don't feel too bad though, the whole city of ASH-land is just like you, and cant get over the fact that once again, and I repeat, once again, that Jim Matney & Co. thwarted the once proud and mighty Tomcats to further depths of obscurity to those glory days of yester year. Don't worry though, next year is "THE YEAR".

Don't take it personal my friend, there is no doubt in my eyes that you are one really bad dude.

It’s crazy to think this game last year was a 51-0 win by JC. Just goes to show you how good that team was last year. I think everyone agrees this game is going to be a whole heck of a lot closer.

Wayne has Lindsey and a pair of fantastic receivers. JCs young secondary is going to have to step up. I think JC needs to force Wayne to beat them with the run. They have a good enough defensive line where they can drop some more guys back in coverage to help the secondary. When Lindsey does drop back to pass the d-line has to get consistent pressure or it’s going to be a long night.

Having Cody Rice back in the backfield is huge. He gives a different dynamic to the offense. His speed puts so much pressure on the defense and is always a threat to take it to the house. As long as there’s not a bunch of fumbles I think the JC offense out scores Wayne.
