Football in Kentucky is terrible. When you can basically guarantee which team will win every class every year, that's not that exciting. That's why everyone looks forward to basketball so early.

Football may be terrible but there is more division I fottball players then there are Division I b-ball players in Ky.Ky b-ball talent is just not very good

According to preps Ky has 196 football prospects 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ And 8⭐️⭐️⭐️. Basketball 17 prospects 1⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ And 3⭐️⭐️⭐️. Nothing to brag about on either side.

Nobody mentioned anything about scholarships, but I can guarantee you that there's more than 17 basketball prospects in Kentucky. Lol. If you want to go by that though, there's a lot more D1 and pro baseball players than any sport in Kentucky.

That's great to know. Preps just list 17. Can you give a link to all the others or just tell where to find them. Also where can you find all the baseball prospects or can you provide a link. Thanks

I can put the baseball prospect links on here, but like most things to do with baseball rankings, it's a ripoff and you have to pay to view all of them. As far as the basketball rankings, you'll never see hardly any KY ranked nationally. But I would put money on there being 10+ scholarship basketball players in the 13th right now.(Total, not just seniors.) Will they all be D1? Obviously not. But there are a ton of full rides given out in basketball each year in KY, whether it's D1-D3, NAIA, Juco, or whatever. Free education is free education regardless of class or level.

10 about right. 17 schools 15 players per school. 255 players. That's .039%. Average is about 4% to go to college and play ball. Only about half of those or less will play 4 years.

Corbin
Knox Central
South Laurel
are way above the rest.
Sleeper team OBI. Why ? They have 2 Good Guards who were Freshman last year and played real well. Got a real good player coming back, had a 6' 5 Kid on Jv. with work can be a player. Did they get any new players, with New 200 Bed Boy's Dorm open ? If so they could be good. I played High School Basketball there and Coached there so My Sleeper Team.

Your sleeper team for the 10th straight year.
I had South third also, but I don't think they are way ahead of a few others. It's rarely that simple.

Only other one I would consider close to those 3 is North Laurel. They will be a lot better than most think. I think Harlan County beat them in summer ball, but North was playing with only 5 players and missing several of their better ones. Pretty sure South beat Harlan County pretty easy in summer ball while playing 12-15 kids, and Harlan played the same 6-7 kids. But for the record, I put zero credence into summer ball results, so it's all just opinions until they start playing.

South 46, HCHS 42 at South
HCHS 51, North 37 at North

Corbin and knox to me are clear favorites. South, Harlan co and north are the next group south with maybe a slight edge
10-25-2017, 02:28 PM
I can agree with that, except I'm not sure North is ahead of Clay or Whitley or Lynn Camp at this point. They didn't play that great in the summer game I saw, but I heard they looked much better against Corbin a day earlier. I think they had all five of the projected starters when I saw them - I know Sizemore, Gray and the big kid were there. Sizemore always makes them competitive though, and they have an experienced top five or six even with the graduation losses.

I'm guessing Capobianco was playing baseball. It seems like he's been there forever and been on/off the basketball team about 10 times. I don't think he was on the list this summer. I'm not sure if Hernandez was eligible yet after leaving South, but I don't think I saw him either. I believe that's the guy I'm thinking of.
Again, North could be really good, but I think it's fair to say they have some question marks, just like Harlan County without Carmical/Spurlock and South without Grubb.
To me, the 49th looks very competitive with North and Clay, plus Jackson.

If my source is correct Blake Brown injured his knee again and wonât be back for whitley. Not confirmed but just going by what I was told

Wow !! I sure hope Blake's not out again!! Good players and better young man!
If so it's a huge loss for Whitley County.

I watched North Laurel scrimmage Adair co last nite. North looked really good. Especially this early. North had coach breeze about to pull his hair out.

Only thing I hate about some of these preseason scrimmages is some play that you canât foul out. Each team had a starter with 4 fouls in first 4 mins of game.

The two big kids, Oster and Young, actually played like bigs, and Capobianco makes a significant difference. You already knew Sizemore and Gray were quality players, but they really looked like a cohesive team last night against a talented Adair bunch that includes Zion Harmon who was all state tournament as an 8th grader for Bowling Green last year. I love Peyton, but from an overall team standpoint North may very well be better off the way the are set up now.

I really think North, will win the 49th District, and make some noise in the region this year.
