13th Region Summer Rankings
#1
we've seen them, now let's rank them

1. Corbin - transfers plus returnees equal top team
2. Knox Central - finally a coach and players at the same time
3. South Laurel - have enough back to challenge at the top
4. Clay - climbing again after a down year
5. Harlan County - Black Bears won't repeat, but can determine who follows them
6. Lynn Camp - I know a bit too high, but Dinky is gonna work some magic
7. North Laurel - Enough back to be a threat
8. Bell County - on the strength of their new head coach, he's a winner
9. Whitley County - We will see what the Colonels are holding
10. Jackson County - had to put somebody here......

Hearing Corbin is looking good this summer. Corbin and Knox are head and shoulders better than everyone else

Harlan County beat Clay and beat North by double digits at North. I'd put them fourth.

Corbin
KC
South
HCHS
North

Corbin has two nice recruits ( Transfers) that put them all alone in the 13th Region.
Knox lost some key players such as Lidford, Wells and Bierman. JMO those three played the best in District and region.
That's why Knox, North, South and Clay are all about equal. Clay having the best coach and South the weakest.

Corbin - took HC shooting lights out last season to knock them off. Doesn't lose a lot.
Knox - Turner and Carton are gonna be a nasty back court.
South - young solid players. Ramey will shine
Clay
HC

No Carmichal and Spurlock to deal with will help the hounds, but I'm not convinced this group can get it done on the big stage. They have a history of folding at the arena. KC should have beaten them in the second round last season, but a bogus call late saved Corbin.

well

I wouldn't sleep on Harlan County. Losing the nucleus of Carmical, Spurlock, and Turner is a big blow, but the group coming back is very balanced and athletic. They've also been successful at the freshman and jv levels for the last 3 years. Plus they have a dynamite coach in Jones. It'll take some time but I wouldn't want any part of them come February.
#19
Harlan co will be better than most think. I have Harlan co 4th best

Can't believe you don't think Sizemore is the best coach. Will make for some akward family moments at the holidays.

KC always had that same problem too. Most have Corbin and KC at the top of the list. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Most slept on Clay last year and they showed why they own the district once again.

Really? Just focusing on football?

I'm a Clay fan, but I just don't know if this team can score enough to beat the top teams in the region. I know they'll play hard and give the effort, and Curry is a tremendous true point guard, but I see them being offensively "challenged". I hope I am proven wrong.

That's how I got them but I think north clay hc are about even. Depends on any given day on how each team shoots the ball Any of those three can beat south or Knox on a given day too. Corbin is just a step ahead with Andrew. I hate getting beat by the kid but love his game. Best 13th has had in a lot of years
#30
I had heard that Daulton wasn't playing this year ??
