TheRealThing Wrote:Of course it is. Just like in the case of Benghazi, Dems are trying to blame the threat of Ebola on reduced funding, which they claim is the result of spending cuts associated with the sequester. The sequester was Obama's idea and the stuff of brinksmanship politics. The idea was to offer spending cuts in a package so unpalatable that Republicans would have to pull in their horns and give up their hopes to make the budgetary adjustments of which this nation is in sore need.
Though it was Obama's offer, Dems are still trying to hang the sequester on Republicans who had a bit more chin than Dems thought.
One more time: The video you posted above, is from an Alison Grimes/ Mitch McConnel race ad?

If you've got something to say then post it. I said what I meant to say. There's no question that Mitch as Republican Minority Leader is being slammed, and the timing of the ad's release is certainly not aimed at the coming 2016 Presidential campaign now is it?
In 20 days, 5 hours & 14 minutes, the Senate is going Republican. Dems are trying to find some way to make Mitch and all Republicans look bad. These are the same guys that ran the ad featuring somebody who looked a lot like Paul Ryan, pushing a wheelchair bound Granny off a cliff. If you bothered to note the end of the video, the words "Republican Cuts Kill" flashed across the screen, while in the background some hapless soul labored to take in his last few breaths. In this we again see a Democrat organization taking the most extreme of cheap shots at their Republican counterparts. In other words they lie. Just like Harry Reid lied from the well of the Senate when he slandered Mitt Romney, saying "a source" told him that Mitt hadn't paid his taxes for 10 years.

I can find only one source that says the ad was ran in Kentucky. I watch the Kentucky channels, and haven't saw it yet. Just making sure it was from an actual Alison ad. I'd like to see your source that it was an Alison ad, and played in Kentucky, and the version that says she approves this message.

Okay. I see where this is going now. If you'll recall, you asked if this was a Democrat ad. It was not my intention to make the inference that the ad was produced explicitly for the Alison Grimes campaign but, that dirty politics were again being employed by Democrats. In my clarification, I stated the intent of the ad was to make Mitch and all Republicans look bad. The conversation was between me and Harry Rex in which he said this administration handles everything politically. I wholeheartedly agreed with him and remembered the ad in question which demonstrates the Dem's penchant for politicizing every issue coming and going. In this case blaming Republicans for the Ebola threat as tied to sequestration which again, was the brainchild of the Obama camp.
None the less I apologize if it seemed to anyone that I was saying that Alison was in any way connected to the ad. I do not believe that she was. Just that the Agenda Project Action Fund produced both the Paul Ryan atrocity and this one. Saying that Republican cuts kill, is way over the top.

Another example of politicizing a natural disaster----
On September 16, the Senate Committees on Appropriations and Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions held a hearing to discuss the resources needed to address the outbreak. Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) asked NIH representative Anthony Fauci about sequestration's effect on the efforts.
"If even modest investments had been madeâ¦the current Ebola epidemic could have been detected earlier, and it could have been identified and contained."
"I have to tell you honestly it's been a significant impact on us," said Fauci. "It has both in an acute and a chronic, insidious way eroded our ability to respond in the way that I and my colleagues would like to see us be able to respond to these emerging threats. And in my institute particularly, that's responsible for responding on the dime to an emerging infectious disease threat, this is particularly damaging." Sequestration required the NIH to cut its budget by 5 percent
Who really believes that 5% really made that much difference? In the very next paragraph, a CDC official confirms that the cuts made in 2013 have been largely offset by increases in appropriations in 2014 and 2015.

Quote:And right on cue, dirty politics rears it's ugly head again. This time it's not the presidential race however, it is the lost race for the US Senate seat (for Dems), between Alison Grimes and Mitch McConnell.

The reporting on the matter tells the true story, you should check the news occasionally. Everybody who isn't aslosh with the kool aid, has joined in denouncing the ad for the same reasons as the one accosting the person of Paul Ryan. The only distinction I made was to clarify that I didn't believe the Grimes campaign produced the ad. Nobody I've heard speak about it has even mentioned any mayoral race. I did see where Mark Pryor (D) Arkansas, started the whole deal in August in his campaign. So, wherever you got that mayor race deal it looks bogus.
http://wapo.st/1p73ARz
But just as certainly, the intent of the new ad I posted (which was based on Pryor's ad according to some) was to slime McConnell and notable other Republicans and it is a lie. As I said, the timing of the release and the content are undeniable. I don't see how any rationally thinking person could deny it was aimed at Mitch McConnell. And, that being the case, would be an attempt to help little Alison.

Even republicans have claimed the sequester as their own, and funding for research was cut in it. FTR, McConnell is a slime, everybody already knows that, check his approval rating.

There is nobody in congress that has an approval rating worth gloating about at this point in time.

I think we should start preparing our health care providers and hospitals with the education and equipment we are going to need to fight this pandemic. It's hard to believe that "fault" is taking a lead in the Ebola conversation.

Not given this administration's bent for imagery. Their priority is to present the image of control, often in the face of evidence to the contrary. It happened in the Crimean Peninsula, Benghazi, Iraq (ISIS) and now the Ebola threat. They release photo's of Mr Obama dealing with foreign leaders on all these matters as if he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. At any rate, the protocol breach is fast losing credibility, not that I was buying it in the first place.

Don't remind me, I've been nauseous since the circus came to DC anyway.
If you listened to the interview Megyn Kelly had with CDC director Tom Fieden last night, you know how political this whole deal really is, is. The video cited below, which includes the contradictions of the CDC and the interview, brings the picture into focus as to how much vacillating has actually gone on since the first two health care workers came down with Ebola.

If our medical personnel and hospitals aren't properly educated as to how to best handle this cluster, there will be more than 10K/week drop from Ebola. Perhaps we could divert some funding away from the free cell phone package to help fund health education....as an emergency type thing!
