DIXIE HEIGHTS 5, MASON COUNTY 1 – Junior first baseman Trevor Goodridge singled home two during the Colonels’ four-run third inning that put the game away.
Dixie Heights senior shortstop Megan James smacked hits in her first three at-bats, giving her seven consecutive safeties before she was retired in her final plate appearance. Her run-scoring double in the third inning gave her five RBI during that streak.
Colonels freshman Courtney Garrett remained perfect through three decisions, allowing just six hits and one run in the win.
